you're trying to argue that he needs to use it to start going blind but the quote states otherwise.

why are your trying to argue this quote? and saying it's 'illogical' to conclude it and that it's 'cryptic' where did you get this from? why would you think hes being cryptic, if you argue a quote in the manga like this then everyone can try to argue any fact being state by the manga and say they didn't mean it like that.

let's say there is a chance of him being cryptic, why would he do that? (btw i hate the word logical, people have used that word to the death in arguments) itachis tried to tell sasuke the truth to prepare him when he died why would he lie about that? hes doing 2 in this fight, he keeps the illusion of himself being a traitor but also hes preparing sasuke for the future, hes telling him about 'madara' and about the mangekyo, theres no reason for itachi to lie about that, hes doing it for sasukes own good, and hes trying to awaken sasukes ms why would he lie about what it entails?

kakashi asked about itachis eye sight, itachi then figures out he has ms
the fact that kakashi knows about the blindess thing suggests its happening to his eyes

but since he hasnt used it aggressively until pain arc and this war, he hasn't been going blind as fast.

but he is definitely going blind in that eye the moment he awakened it from what itachi says.


Why isn't obito using eyesight in that eye?
well we don't know that he isn't but the process of eye sight loss may have been reduced or even completely stopped due to hashiramas cells
