I listened to an economist I respect on Canadian Radio and he was saying that with the proposed changes Romney wanted, knowing full well that there is absolutely nothing to guarantee he'd go through with them, might have led to increased taxes on everyone, rich and poor alike, so it made no sense that the 1% were so firmly with Romney. Made me laugh.
In any case, I don't think the USA is fucked, truly. I mean, they can print money for the next 100 years if they want to. It's the partisanship that is going to make dealing with the larger problems hard for Obama. He has a plan, I suppose, but there is too much congress has against him to just work with the man. The best part of the 2nd term is that he won't be up for re-election again and HOPEFULLY, some Republicans will loose up and work with the man.
Also, Obama will keep spending, but at least he tries to use it to improve social security for the middle/lower classes. It ain't Canada, but if the economy struggles for the next 4 (probably) at least you'll have some programs to take care of you.
