There is a cool theory going around the fandomsphere that Kaidou might be based on Typhon, the father of all beasts in Greek mythology.
Typhon's body is comprised of different creatures, Kaidou's epithet is "Hundred beasts", and he controls an army comprised of animal human hybrids. It fits from what I've read.
