Not trashing SnK, because it's arguably the best manga there is. Problem is, since they are a monthly release, slow chapters as the last few tend to leave the readers wanting more, and after awhile, some give up. Also, I'm beginning to notice many similarities between Snk and Naruto, especially when Naruto started taking a turn for the worse. I'm holding out, because SnK was definitely great up this last point. But another thing that worries me is the serialization of the prequel to this story. Usually when something like that happens, one of the two takes a turn for the worse, and it's usually the original.
FSJ almost lost me during the mini-arc in the mines. I continued reading because of the humor and mostly because of the artwork and colorization.
For me, Dragonball (Z) will always hold a special place for nostalgia reasons, but my most favorite non-North American comic/manga has been Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Even though it was a monthly release, always guaranteed at least 35+ pages (including scanned double pages), and even transitional/information chapters had something to keep you coming back. FSJ is doing a good job of that minus the mines.
