Depends which people survive. If Mongolia escapes the ravages, yeah, i agree - those guys are self-sufficient. However, large portions of the world are truly reliant on technology and labour of other countries and those people would make a tough go of it should things go to crap. When we are importing food and resources because we have no idea how to manage our own (hell, most kids have zero idea where their food comes from), that's a problem for the future.
I don't mean to be all doom and gloom but I can't cross climate change as not able to set the stage for an extinction event. Just might take a few more generations, of which, we shall not see.
