First off, even assumimg that Oro could get his fangs into Itachi, cause Itachi pwns and Sasuke suxs, I would have to say, yes, he would have enough will power to live, because he is still waiting for Sasuke to measure his strength.
But the strength not to follow Oro? Sasuke followed Oro to get more power, but Itachi would follow Oro just to kick his ass....
