Disturbed in my opinion is okay but I don't see them as a heavy metal band. Yes, I do like some of their songs but I don't know.

Megadeth, Tool, HIM, Children of Bodom, Slipknot, In Flames, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, Godsmack, and lastly, Lamb of God are all good.

But it's all a point of perspective like NaraGirl. Some of you dislike Evanescene but she loves it.

There are too many genres of heavy metal to pick the best Heavy Metal band. If you are referring to nu-metal, which is what Disturbed is, I think Faith No More, and Rage Against the Machine are the best bands.

Both of these bands are good, but I cannot see how one could say they are the best int he genre. For one Alt. Metal is way to big of a genre to pick one, though I would agree Anathema is one of the best. As for Dream Theater, I think you are going a bit too far there. For one, Dream Theater's music doesn't have that much special about it except for the fact that it is really technical and the pedals Petrucci use are pretty original. Other in that the vocalist is really terrible because he can't really sing any different then how he sings i that band, and trust me on that one. I have listened to a lot of his stuff with other bands and he really never changes his voice. Plus, the emotion Dream Theater has been giving off over the years is generally the same. I mean as for Prog Metal there are bands like Queensr˙che who are much more diverse. Don't get me wrong, DT is a good band, but nowhere near the best.

While Yngwie Malmsteen is old and more classic Metal, I prefer him. Like Redneckboy said, there are several genres of metal. Yngwie is more neo-classical and classic metal than the newer bands in the heavier of metal categories.
