as brilliant as the aztecs where they had to stop somewhere when they made that calender, this is just like the end of 99 when people where panicking over the millenium bug.

all up the movie looks like teh day after tomorrow without so much ice, I think i'll take up Mals idea. the only difference being i'll get my mate to hire it out so hey pays for it.

It's actually from the Mayan calendar where they believed the world was in a cycle of rebirth and devastation, like monkeys were meant to be the remnants of 'wood' people who were created in the age prior to humans. Their gods keep creating new races to worship them and then get pissy when the people are inadequate.

It's a load of shit anyway (besides lolreligion) as the one reference to 2012 is fucking vague.

Aztecs are more retarded, first white man they saw had to be the reincarnation of their god and it was okay if he was destroying their empire.

however, i have to watch the movie. i kinda like these kinds of eye-openers... they kinda amuse me...

So true. Death is not the end; it's just the beginning of a new and everlasting life. This movie is just one of those sci-fi alien-meets-predator-meets-the day after tomorrow films. Nobody knows when exactly the world would end, and I personally dont want to waste my time thinking of how to survive the apocalypse, coz if it's the end of the world then it's the end of the world. Period. There's no point on surviving and living in a wasted planet.

But I like the movie's effects and the leading actor (John Cusack FTW!) so I'll prolly watch it.
