The Akatski and Shark Skin are some prime examples of them messing up on names. I wish they used subtitles and actually used the real Japanese Jutsu names in the Dubbed Edition, and all of the special weapons and stuff should be in Japanese as well. Think how lame having a sword called Shark Skin is.

Indeed, the main problem people seem to have with the dubbed is that it doesn't sound like the subbed. For example, Orochimaru in the original Japanese speaks with a tone and mode of address which cannot be reproduced in English; so they have to improvise. As a result, there's a very obvious difference between the two.

Plus, the Japanese voice-acting is based solely on what THEY feel is appropriate for the characters. This means that they are no more correct than the English voice-acting. And Japanese voice-actors aren't famous for their perfect pronunciation of English names.

If I remember correctly, they actually pronounced Akatsuki correctly; and they translated Samehada, rather than keeping it in Japanese. How lame do you think it was for a Japanese person to read that Kisame's sword was called "Shark Skin" in their native language?

And as a final note: People complain that Naruto has a nasal voice in the English version. HE HAS A NASAL VOICE IN THE JAPANESE VERSION, TOO!

I agree. As another tidbit, a few of the voice actors for the dub, (Sasuke's for example) are fluent in both English and Japanese.

We might not have to wait two weeks. Just ebcause they are having a Pokeman marathon doesn't mean they might not interupt it for some of the "prime time" shows. A 36 hour marathon starting at 0600 would incompass the adult swim time slot too if it was constant. I think its just spread out over the weekend. Well still have Naruto.

Finally, Shizune's voice actress sounds so much better when she's being serious.

...and The got the pronounciation of Dan and the borther correct.

Edit: shit i have sat. so i can see the weeks schedual and yes it goes straight threw naruto but for AS they have a futarama marathon so yeah two weeks

I don't really understand where you would get where my point was coming from. What I meant with the whole "Shark Skin" comment, it's not what it means so much as what it SOUNDS like to say. People in Japan still say Samehada the way we do, and it still sounds cool, whereas shark skin sounds lame and about the worst title for a weapon I've heard. I wasn't commenting about the meaning, but the way it is spoken.

RasenganAcv2, I agree. Probably cuz I"m used to the voices and they way they say some words, but it is more tolerable that it used to be.

That would be cool and all, but there would be too many bitchers complaining that either the subtitles go too fast, kids that are ages 4-10 cant read yet...or people that just cant read at all. So yeah, its best to keep it in dub and live with it or not watch the dub at all.

I'm still confused on why they had to change Samehada to "Shark skin" for...is it really that hard to say "Sa-me-hada"? Ah well dubbers are not perfect.

Noooooooo! I just didn't want to believe it. Well, back to my original theory that they are starting to get close to the end of the episodes that they have dubbed.

Holy crap! So no Bleach either! WTF! they can't BOTH be running out. Why torture us like this? Even the Japanese only skip one week or so at a time. They better do a long ass special, and include the movie. Grrrr.

Oops! I made a mistake. I meant to say that there's no NEW Naruto for 2 weeks. Next week (June 9th), there will be repeats of Naruto. I'm hoping for New Naruto on June 16th!!.
