Re: TKD Test
Well to get to your 1st degree black belt at my school you must go for 6 months or 90 classes, whichever takes longer. I think. You must take a written test to prove that you have sufficient knowledge of the history, theories, and such of TKD. You have to write a speech about how you've come to get to your 1st dan in TKD and then you must pass a evaluation board. For 2nd degree you have to go for 120 classes or 18 months, whichever takes longer. Then you have to take a larger written test, you have to write a 5 page thesis in relation to a certain aspect of TKD, then you have to pass an evaluation board. That's about it. You have to pass the test of course.

Re: TKD Test
I don't see why that confuses you. My teacher goes to Home Depot and buys lumber and gets it made into boards...Did I not phrase it right? o.O

Re: TKD Test
So he goes there to get lumber chopped into boards. K. Does he make grooves or anything in the board to make them break along the groves? Or somethin' similar. I'm assuming he doesn't, and the wood is just the type of wood that splits easily (or, somewhat easily).

Re: TKD Test
He doesn't have them grooved or anything. The ONLY thing he does to make boards easier to break is he gets two-inch boards for our demo group to guarantee they'll break during a performance. That's all.
Let me take pics of the ones I've got. (Same ones he uses.) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i/DSCN0392.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...i/DSCN0394.jpg Same set of boards, just both sides.

Re: TKD Test
Looks like pine wood. And you say demo wood is two inches thick? That wood in the picture looks like it's less than two inches thick. You sure about those dimensions? Looks like it's ~10x10x1 to me.

Re: TKD Test
Aye...These are 3/4 inch boards...=(
Now I can't remember what he calls them. They are thinner and lighter then these. The demo boards are 10x10 but I'm not sure how thick they are. =/
