I have trouble reading some of that I have had my moments where I wanted to know what something meant but I was not able to find its translation

Is the chinese word "guo" pronounced "gah" or "gwor"? A book I have says "uo" at the end of words in Chinese is pronounced like the word "war" but a website says its pronounced "ah".
I am gonna learn chinese as my elective for 10th grade and so on hopefully. Wo3 shan1 chu2 wang3 luo4!
