how many 13 year-old girls do you find attractive? really. I've never seen one that I found attractive. And think of it in reverse. How many girls our age find younger guys attractive? You'd be hard pressed to find ONE. Most couples with much of an age difference (affecting age difference is larger when older) are with the man being the older.

Took a break from studying

The way I see it this show is aimed at pre-teens, aang is at the age where boys start to notice girls. I don't see anything wrong with Katara and Anng as a couple, theres nothing wrong in dating someone 2 years older. Plus they're really just kids, they're not going to go off and have wild sex. It's just a crush, for the time being.

Another thing is, I think they have more important things to focus on than each other. The only way I see them together is after this is all over and there is a 10 year later epilogue.

that is true...maybe in a 10yrs later thing...but if the main characters DO couple up, I'll bet on Aang and Toph, Zuko and Katata, since Zuko is going to betray Azula, whom Mai will stay loyal to, and then Sokka and Suki. I think that Ty Lee is just a sidetrack.

I actually see Mai leaving Azula with Zuko if the time ever came to it. I don't really think Mai is that loyal. She's just bored.

About Aang getting together with Katara:
The age doesn't bother me. When I started watching the show, and we knew he had a crush on her, I didn't like the idea of them together cuz I got a Brother/sister vibe. I dod agree that they would be cute together, but it's too obvious (cuz of his love for her) and kinda boring. Zutara is exciting cuz it really does not seem like it will happen, but it could.

nah. I don't think she loves him that much. She IS very loyal to the Fire Nation. Zuko, as we've seen, can be swayed otherwise. He was on the very line between good and evil, although a hair to the dark side. Another time we might see him sway the other way.

there WERE some Zutara moments, but really the only good one was the one where they were in the cavern together. She was willing to use her special water on him. Doesn't that strike you as odd?

it IS too stupid and I would kill myself if they did something that obvious with that little evidence behind it.

I just meant that I liked it when she touched his face or hugged him... which she did several times in the premiere.

And I didn't mean it in a sexual way. I like that she shows him her care with affection. Its part of the reason I like Katara as a character. And uh, there may be a shift of affections but neither of us can know that for sure so... yah... >.>

And LN said enough, no need to get into the age 'issue'.

Well, I still haven't seen the first season myself, so nothings final with me concerning pairings. xDDD Once I've watched more I'll really make a decision. But so far, I like Aang and Katara xD

their relationship is so much more like an oldersister-youngerbrother thing. that and a motherly vibe from Katara. I mean she's always comforting him like a mother would. If anything, she's like a mother to him.


that leaves sokka, toph, azula, and suki for sigs by my count.

Katara right now is more of a mother figure for Anng in my opinion, takes the pain away ( like when he got zapped by Azula) and sort of teaches him morals.

Amazon.com is selling book 1 and book 2 together for $90.48 I think its a great deal. I had to buy em seperately. They're definitely worth the purchase. If you can't use a credit card then a money order or check works too. ^^ Book 1 has my favorite fight, Katara vs a Master Water Bender.

Perhaps. See, one of the first episodes I ever watched was The Cave of Two Lovers. I think that has a lot to do with why my view Aang and Katara is different. In that episode, I got the impression of mutual feelings between the two.

She does try to provide moral support, an action not limited to our mothers =P

And I read on Wiki that Katara had to take responsibility in her village at an early age, which explains why she's trying to help guide Aang. She's used to taking care of others, or at least it seems this way.

don't pawn off Katara's platonic, motherly nature towards Aang on her taking charge at a young age. Sokka had to do the same, being the only man left in the ribe, and he didn't turn out more fatherly! Katara just feels like an older sister towards Katara.

Don't ignore that Sokka and Katara are two different characters, who by no means have to react in the same manner to a circumstance. o.O

It seems to me that Sokka reacted by acting less mature than he really is, while Katara did the exact opposite. >.>

And it is kinda funny how you mentioned nothing about The Cave of Two Lovers. Which as I said, was the second episode I ever saw of Avatar. Definitely Katara/Aang in that one. That was my impression and I had no previous bias.

Age doesn't always mean something. Who knows, the story could end with a flash into the future when they are older. They could hook up then. At an adult stage, age doesn't mean a thing, but i stil believe in Zuko and Katara.
