And seeing how many people replied saying that they were interested, I'd think it's safe to say that we got something good goin' on here.

well, instead of a long description, why not use one word to describe that week's sketch. Sort of like those meme's on deviantart with the long list of topics to draw (light, boredom, fire....etc). I guess I'd join, it sounds fun, but I don't know how far this'll go. :S

Ahhh! I see what you're saying! They do that kind of thing in my art class for sketchbook assignments.

Here's some ideas:

"Ballpoint pen only!!"
"Plugged in."
"Normal."
"Not normal."
"Music to my ears."
"Refuge."
"Yesterday."
"Free space."
"Draw a portrait using light and shadow."
"Draw or design a vehicle."

Those are a few of the ones that my art teacher gave me. Basic concept: whichever subject (ex: free space) draw the thing that comes to mind when you hear/see the words "Free Space". Whoever's drawing is most creative or detailed or just, well popular wins(?).

Inaugural SkotW for the New Year

--Your drawing must depict the spirit of the New Year, literally or metaphorically
--Pencils, charcoal, oil pastels may be used on paper only. No canvases.
--You may not edit your art with a computer aside from cleaning it up.
--You may ink the work for finer detail.
--Any member of NarutoLounge may participate.

**This SkotW will conclude on Sunday, January 6th. Have fun and be creative!

Wanted to keep it basic, not everyone has a lot of equipment.

I understand but chalk based pastels are just as common as oil, but no prob I agree with keeping it basic.
