There are too many genres of heavy metal to pick the best Heavy Metal band. If you are referring to nu-metal, which is what Disturbed is, I think Faith No More, and Rage Against the Machine are the best bands.

While Yngwie Malmsteen is old and more classic Metal, I prefer him. Like Redneckboy said, there are several genres of metal. Yngwie is more neo-classical and classic metal than the newer bands in the heavier of metal categories.

Then Thousand Fists was better as far as I'm concerned, it's best songs weren't as amazing as The Sickness' (Voices, The Game, Fear, Want) best, but as an album over all Ten Thousand Fists is exceptional.
