I used to like Simple Plan a while ago, but only a few of their songs. I never liked them enough to download or buy an album or anything.

How could you possibly mention Nirvana in the same sentence as Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Not saying that Nirvana is bad, but Nirvana didn't do that much for music except create a very punky form of grunge.

Okay so Nirvana, the group the created more punky grunge music, is in league with the two band that have made all of the heavy metal genres what they are today. Yeah, sounds like a good comparison.

In fact Nirvana almost single handily destroyed the art of the guitar solo, because they didn't have any, or at least the ones they did do were crappy, I can’t remember which.

They did have some and I will admit some were good such as Come as You Are's solo, but really Nirvana's guitar work was just in catchy riffs that weren't really THAT genius at all. The most talent in that band was shown in the lyrics, but that isn't really the music so Nirvana gets really over-hyped.
