Re: The Official 2008 Presidential Election Thread
Obama's speech was pretty good; he said some riveting things. It'll be interesting to see how the GOP responds.

Re: The Official 2008 Presidential Election Thread
So what do you guys make of McCain's decision to randomly pick a small time Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin, someone with very little experince on homeland security, military command experience, ect...? This is a decion made by a guy who scrutinized the Democratic party for nominating a guy for the same reasons, no experiance. On top of McCain is old and has a long history of medical issues and to choose a running mate with so little experience who could potentially become the commander and chief of this nation is very irresponsible on his part. I don't want to say anything offend McCain supporters but this just seems weird on his part because he only met her once before last year and again last month to extend to her the position of VP through a short meeting. What are your takes on this matter?

Re: The Official 2008 Presidential Election Thread
You know im not a Yank, but I hear it's not compulsary for you guys to vote... I have to vote tomorrow for a new Premier of Western Australia, and if i don't vote i get fined, where as you guys dont have to vote if you dont give a fuck, now i gotta take time outa my day to write on a piece of paper which guy i think is the lesser wanker, personally i think they are both on the same level....you know what fuck it im not going to vote, i don't like either of the dicks so why should i give points to some knob i dont even like. and i'd wish they'd get this Yank election over its taking space in my fkn newpaper under the world section, there has to be more happening than a buncha dicks rolling round in black cars kissing babies, which is a point i can bring up universally, well kind of, i want you guys to think about how often you hear bout some dick politician visiting sick people in hospital and kissing babies when there is nothing to do with an election going on, do these cunts think we are stupid or something?? surely they realise we notice that they only stand round in a hospital or retirement home during election, pfftt i think its safe to say all Politicians are wankers

Re: The Official 2008 Presidential Election Thread
This election is scary !!!
How are the Democrats not ahead by a land slide ?? Have people not had enough of this crap for the last 8 years ?? Our economy is in the trash, people are losing their homes and health care and here we have Mccain and Palin who will continue the war on Iraq which was based on lies and completely demolished out economy and out standing on the world stage. How can people support this man ?? not only that what about the threat of a war with Iran ?? this is ridiculous. Are we leaving in a twilight zone ?? I do not agree with Obama on everything but at least he is sane enough to see what a horrible mistake this war is. thats why ill vote for him this year.

Re: The Official 2008 Presidential Election Thread
I really don't see the difference between Obama's foreign policy and McCains's. They both want to intervene with other nations, which is just as bad as staying in Iraq.
As far as the economy, both of their policies suck.

Re: The Official 2008 Presidential Election Thread
There are cases in which conflict is necessary. Obama is against unnecessary conflict, i.e. Iraq, whereas McCain is not. 100 year war, etc.
Hooray social liberalism. Obama will strengthen those ideals within the country. Freedom cannot prevail unless the citizens are taken care of by the government. Protection is not the only thing government is for. |
