people people no no you got it all wrong.... see kishi's idea for this chapter is to make it a cluster fuck of the theroies proven correct. Kakashi will come in last moment when naruto is done talking to nagota and finds out that konan is his mom ( dont ask i didnt make the therories) nagota is his uncle.... and be like naruto watch out for the shadow clone of nagota behind you fool and his mask will fall off and what you see is peter griffans chin. madara will show up and spaz out and he will say he is in tobi's body. kakashi will be all O_O WTF and then out of no where the 4th hokage comes out of narutos seal. WHat up nuckas and naruto will shit bricks. This is how the next chapter will be...... after the whole long talk with no suprises to it or any kinda of trying in making this chpater cool.....

Yeah, I thought the 2nd one would be Yahiko's death but then again, Nagato was a kid back then so a lot of things could happen that would make him mentally unstable. Look at Garra for example. He was ignored by everyone becasue they all viewed him as a monster. Then they tried to kill him, which drove him to set his own goal of killing people in order for "his existence to have meaning".

Im not saying Gaara was in the right before Naruto changed his ways, Nagato however was hyped to have had the worst possible things imaginable happen to him which turned him into a psycho with a disturbing ideology for a security blanket.

So far, at least for me his reasons are not all reasonable ( reasons for killing people are never really reasonable but still ) if you weight it against what he has doen and how many he has killed.

Surely, next week we will learn about Yahiko's death then. It's not a horribly bad chapter, it does give a bit more justification. I agree it's not all that reasonable but when you are starving, living in a war-zone and something even marginally worse happens, you can snap. Most likely Yahiko's death pulled the plug on any sort of mental stability Nagato had.. I mean even Konan says in the chapter before the Invasion "can't you stop this madness?" and he says "this is my justice." It's making Nagato's character marginally better but he still needs some more bad incidents to be believable.

Exactly. War itself and the experience of it could drive someone like Nagato to cause such harm and chaos. It's not unlike today's world in the middle east where war has always been the norm and innocent children and parents get caught in the crossfire. How would you expect the kids to feel if their parents, friends or pets gets killed in front of them? They would want revenge. They would someday make those people pay for what they did. I'm not saying what Nagato is doing is justified but he has a pretty good reason for bringing destruction and chaos to the Hidden Leaf and the rest of the Ninja world.

Nagato's motives and reasons do not justify what he has done or what he plans to do. If someone close to you is killed its only natural you'd feel the need to get revenge on the killer due to extreme anger and sadness.

Nagato however killed Hanzou and his entire clan, destroyed Konoha and wants to create a weapon powerful enough to reduce entire countries to ash all for the sake of his twisted idea of peace.

The innocent people who were caught in the middle of his BS died for no reason, his past tragedies don't justify any of that and never will.

I agree with TSO, Mikey and some others who want Nagato to be butchered in the worst possible way. we're talking MK lvl brutality and even that is too good for his bony ass.

.lol Nagato is nothing more than a welp who only lives through the bloated dreams of a lost child. His persona is soley based on Yahiko. His entire existence is based on the exaggerated expectations of what Yahiko wanted to be. So the dog also plays a major role in this...

This chapter made me laugh in the most awful way possible.

His parents were killed for no other reason than they were in a location where war was being waged.

He was starving to death and the dog was the first friend he ever had. It died because, like his parents, it was in the proximity of a war zone.

If the flashbacks continue I bet we see Yahiko also become a casualty of war.

I think Nagato doesn't so much just hate the leaf, he hates War in general. If he, as one person can become some evil and so destructive that everyone else quits fighting each other out of their fear for him, then he accomplishes his goal even if he has to become what he loathes in the process.

I bet that if we get even more information we discover that the reason each of those bodies was someone J-man knew from before is because they were the greatest "weapon" of each of the warring nations. Nagato took their weapons away from them and then re-made them into his own. When he finds out about the tailed beasts and how they are sealed into the Jinchuriki to make the ultimate weapons he upgrades his plans and decides that he needs those instead. If he has an example of each nations weapon, then crafts the ultimate weapon from what are the most powerful beings in existance he can end war. Sure... lots of innocent people die now, but if in the end he succeeds and stops war how many more will he have saved?

It is a twisted sense of justice and a really messed up view of the world, but through these flashbacks I can see why he is so messed up. All he has ever known is Pain and loss because of war, so he will stop war at any cost by making the people who wage it know what it feels like to be on the losing side. It is boring, but it does give you an idea of why he is a sociopath.

Nice post. He does seem to think that humans cannot understand one another without having experienced the same conditions, so his destruction of Konoha is a sick means of getting people to detest war. His warped idealism wants war ended, even at the cost of millions. Regardless, I don't sympathize with him, war is inevitable, it's sad he lost so much, but life is not always fair, reality can be cruel.

I agree. He needs to eat a face full of FRS for all the crap he has caused. If nothing else he should be forced to beg for mercy just for killing J-man. He should have been ripped to shreds just as soon as he pulled the whole wheelchair rod attack. Naruto is a softy though.

What will be really funny is after Naruto converts him and then goes back and tells the remaining villagers "Hey it's okay I talked to him, he repented, so I let him live." And one of the adults says "Excuse me... did you ever even pass the chunin exam? I don't care if you can go all froggy eyed and kick the crap out of super villians. You are still dumb as a box of rocks." Then finishes Nagato off.
