the wicker man is a remake?
I can't think of one movie i liked nicolas cage in...

remakes are almost always a poor choice
example: dr. dolittle, "flubber," escape/return to witch mountain, the parent trap.

It looks fairly well produced, but I didn't see anything whilst it was out here to suggest it was anything more than a run of the mill BBC production. It's not something I'd pay or go out of my way to see. It would be more interesting if you knew nothing about the events.

Any movie about Darwin that is released in the US I am willing to go see. Darwin's struggle is the struggle of a hero. He knows it is right, but he realizes that the culture will ostracize him for it. In the end he publishes it. I like Nicholas Cage. 8]

In Lord of War, Family Man, Face Off, and some others.
Face Off is so ridiculous that I enjoy it.
My favorite part of Lord of War was Jared Leto's 'cokraine' creation. 8]

I personally don't think that movie looks all that great, but I bet it'll have some funny parts.

The thing about The Wicker Man is that there really is no film like it. The soundtrack is also a classic.

That sentiment is admirable, but as I'm sure you understand it really doesn't need to be applied here. Actual practising Christians are an increasing minority in the UK, and Darwin is a national icon - he's on our money, and more importantly last year there was loads of coverage on his life and achievements for the bicentennial anniversary. There was little reason to go out and see a romantic film about his indecision to publish when there was a series of good documentaries and events to tell the story, as well as the science, more thoroughly.

You asked if anyone was going to see it, and as a film it's not particularly enticing, you're interested in it because of what it is trying to portray, not what is necessarily is. It's understandable if you really do live in the society you've built it up to being, but for people not under that stimulus the film really does look like a bit of a wet drip.

There are some Nicolas Cage movies that i like,Like Windtalkers,Ghost Rider,National treasure,Face/off.
But he was never my favorite actor and i don't like to see him in a super awesome movies that am looking forward to watch.
