Its true, some of us take a lot of shit. A lot of it seems to come from those who aren't very educated on the topic. Hell, my own mom can't believe I'm an atheist. And good luck running for any sort of important office in this country if you don't at least claim to be religous.

that's somehting that really surprised me when i was learing and hearing more about the US of A, Christianity is way more widely accepted down there, and i always thought that canada, with it's very conservative view on everything (with the exception of homosexuality), would have been more traditional and religious
i guess we do have a bigger range of cultures though, lots of which aren't based around a christian faith.

anywasys, it surprised me that a country built from war and fighting for their freedom would be so christian

Belief in God or a higher being =/= Christian. A lot of people are Agnostic. [not to say a lot of people aren't also 'Christian'].

I wouldn't consider myself anything. christian just happens to be what you could closely affiliate me with, I think.

Edit- Also, I've read about some states not letting Atheists adopt. =| I raged.

It was the result of irrational dogmatism. I, for one, would appreciate any drawings depicting FTP/OH heroes or heroics. Even if the artistic level isn't on par with the manliest of artists.

Because we can never have enough artistic representations of our badassness, really.
