Re: Official MMA thread.

Did you see Sherdogs post about the salaries of this fight? Its full of bullshit I mean if I was Carwin I would drop the fight and gtfo out of there.

Quote:
UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will be paid $400,000 whether he wins or loses his title to Shane Carwin at UFC 116 “Lesnar vs. Carwin” on Saturday in Las Vegas.

The 32-year-old wrestler’s base pay, according to figures released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Friday, dwarfs that of opponent, Shane Carwin, who’s slated to make $40,000 plus another $40,000 in bonus pay should he topple Lesnar on Saturday. Lesnar has no reported win bonus listed, though it’s common knowledge that the former WWE champion shares in some of the pay-per-view profits the UFC collects from the events he appears in.

In the night’s co-main event, NSAC figures say Chris Leben stands to make a total $86,000 ($43K/$43K) if he beats Yoshihiro Akiyama in their middleweight matchup. The ethnic Korean star is listed as making $45,000 and an extra $25,000 in bonus win pay.

Leben took the bout on 13 days’ notice after stopping Aaron Simpson at “The Ultimate Fighter 11” Finale on June 19 in Las Vegas. Leben replaces an injured Wanderlei Silva.

Yeah I saw that shit lol. Lesnar is ufc's cash cow. I'm actually really impressed with brock tonight.

Re: Official MMA thread.

I thought the whole event was good overall. That harris dude was manly. George Stepenopoloisosis or whatever was also manly as fuck, using goddamn peek-a-boo boxing or some shit. I'd have rather Leben not won, but that was still a manly fight. Lesnar and Carwin fight was kinda lol, mainly because it was being hyped as the fight to determine the baddest man on the planet or some shit. And then Lesnar got his shit ruined, hard, for pretty much the entire first round. Carwin gasses out and just chills in a arm triangle till Brock actually makes it tight. Don't get me wrong, mad props to Brock for not dying from a Carwin beatdown (Though, if that was stopped I wouldn't have cried foul.), since a normal man would have been dead from something like that, and for learning some submission offense. I feel safer than ever in saying that Fedor and Ubereem would have legit chances, at worst, at beating the UFC champ.

Re: Official MMA thread.

The thing is Brock called Mir a coward for subbing him, lol and look at him now. If Carwin wouldn't have gassed Brock wouldn't have survived round 2. But Brock is a very strong dude.

Yeah I thought it was an excellent card as a whole, and I didn't know who the fuck that guy was until that fight. Then I checked his record, and damn, he deserves a shot at some higher competition next.

Anybody watch Joe Rogan's podcast? I usually do, I generally agree with his viewpoint. The latest podcast: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/8116932

Re: Official MMA thread.

Lol, that damn Aoki is a weird fuck. I'm kinda hoping he gets back on his game though, the guy is a submission wizard. I'll probably watch it after the fact.

Also, Urijah won't be in WEC 50. Damn :'(

Re: Official MMA thread.

That Brock Carwin fight was beast, I've been following Carwin fights for a while I'm a fan of both guys so I wanted a good fight regardless of who wins. But now due to copyright and shit I can't find this fight anywhere cause I wanna watch it again especially the first round.

Quotes for noobs (learn how to break up a quote)
Quote:

So you can post the second bit and i shouldnt be allowed to if i dont tell you? Why be so rude?

Anyways, here is a quotes for noobs guide

1. A basic quote

[*QUOTE][*/QUOTE]

(the * need to be removed for it to work, I put them in so you can see the text) is a basic quote that just wraps something in a quote without saying who quoted it who quoted so

[*QUOTE]this is a quote[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:
this is a quote

Edit: there is a button for this, it looks like a speech bubble. If you select text and then press the button the selected text will automatically be wrapped with the quote tag

2. A quote that says who said it

[*QUOTE=who said it][*/QUOTE] this adds who said the post, manually putting that there can be useful when quoting something external. Example:

[*QUOTE=Mangastream]Remember all you sexy bastards out there, Naruto, Bleach, OP, FT, etc. all on break this week. Feel free to take your rage out on us[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:

3. A quote that says who said it and links to the post where it was said

[*QUOTE=who said it;X][*/QUOTE]

Where X is the post number.

For the post that i originally quoted it would look like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey, how do you break it up please and if your not willingly to tell me, then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]

That is what you get when you press the quote button.

4. Breaking up a quote

Now that you know how quotes work it all boils down to preference, how you want it to look like and how you want to do it.

One way of doing it is copying the latter part of the original quote [*/QUOTE] and then pasting it after each section you break up, write your reply, choose the text you want then paste it after that portion, repeat till you finish the go back and copy then paste the first part of the text at the beginning of each portion of text. Of course you can immediately copy and paste both parts of a poste so that you dont forget one in the end.

The end result would be something like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which without any * would look like

Another way of doing it would be to cut and paste the second part of the quote tag after the first section of text you want to seperate then write your reply select the second part and hit he quote button (it looks like a text bubble),if you do that without anything else the end result would be

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which would look like

Quote:

To make it like the previous example (which wpuld be preferred, though not necessary ) copy the part that says who posted with the link to the post and paste it accordingly to the proper part in each first half of each quote tag. In my I would copy =minato uchiha;2118164 and paste it where the # is
[*QUOTE#] to get [*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] (of course with the * removed)

Of course you can use any other method you like to get to the end result, but now that you know what the end rwsult looks like I think there shouldnt be any problems

Ugh...Shamrock got embarrassed again, by Rizzo this time/ facepalm. The guy should have retired awhile ago, and perhaps salvaged some of his legacy. He was a beast back in the day, especially Pancrase, now just a joke
