Don't know. I don't even watch TV at all, because most of the shows are pointless and the money being used to make those shows could be elsewhere to feed hungry children or create jobs. OR something productive at least.

Sarah Palin's Alaska = Waste of time and money

But the good thing about it is that you get to learn about Alaska. (something youtube or wikipedia could do.)

But that's just it - why is Palin this popular?! She's a moron! I half expect here tromping through the Alaskan wilderness is just an add-on to an expedition to determine where the oil pipelines should go.

I have all but given up on regular television. Still watch the Daily Show, the few occasions Jon is not on vacation. Along with some other miscellaneous programs. With the web however and the ability to stream shows to my living room, I am awfully close to doing away with cable TV altogether.

My video watching has been reduced to Hulu, ForaTV, adultswim, and Leo Laporte's Twit cast. I miss TechTV. The Screensavers was my show before Leo left.

OK, yeah - stupid people can be popular. But look at the context and it is a bit more damning than that.

First picture - rich father, does nothing to but be an embarrassment. I'm guessing schadenfreude. Who knows. Some people probably think she's attractive.

Second picture - no clue. That one boggles the mind. And reminds me of something else that amused me this week:

Third picture: had a mildly successful music career, so could be said to have some talent, despite being stupid.

Sarah Palin - a one time elected official who is probably on the tip of many Rebulican/Tea Party tongues for their next Presidential Candidate!! If we are lucky, we won't see any of the other three run for political office, but the fact that there is this type of popularity behind Palin is flabbergasting. Particularly when you see how they turned on Obama.

I know... I expect too much.

I just recently moved out of my parent's house and simply didn't bother to get cable in the first place. So far all that I miss is being able to absent mindedly flip through the channels while eating, and watching the odd Discovery show.
