Re: Cooking Time
Well - if you have onions, some roasted beef, potatoes, a pan, a little cream ana maybe some mushrooms, just mix it all together on the pan. Roast the onions and mushrooms first, add the meat, and the potatoes last. let it roast good. Add the cream in the end, taste up with salt/pepper. Awesome, cheap easy food.

Re: Cooking Time
Hmm. Cook some fettucine (long, flat, thin pasta), have some cream, a little lemon, and whatever kind of fish you like, or chicken maybe. Boil the cream, add fresh-squeezed lemon juice, salt, pepper and chicken/fish in small pieces. Mix the lot together and eat. If you like, you can add corn, peas etc.etc. Bacon, vegetables - whatever you like

Re: Cooking Time
Here you go Demi:
Slice of bread. Spread dijon mustard. Layer on sliced smoked meat of your choice (I prefer Genoa Salami). Add cheese (provalone is nice, but hell, who hates cheddar?). Lettuce REAL mayonaise (because people who like that sour, spoiled mayo crap called miracle whip are insane and forfeit their right to taste buds). Another slice of bread. Fucking sandwich.

Re: Cooking Time
I would just replace the mayo, mustard, cheese and lettuce with more layers of meat and then you could call it a fucking sandwich.
Baron - Sweeet, thank ya. |

Re: Cooking Time
More of that kind of stuff? Well, a little oystersauce, mixed with some sourcream on any kind of meat is an excellent sauce as well. Veil is probably best.
Also, for sandwiches, a few inspirations? (for all of them, use REAL Mayonnaise, like ACT said, as well as salad of whatever kind you like, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.) Ham//cheese and a dressing made of mustard, honey and a bit of fresh orange juice. Shrimps and boiled, sliced eggs. Turkeyslices, Bacon and a dressing made of curry, mayo and sourcream. Sliced Meatballs Roasted pork Sliced Roastbeef Pastrami Salmon/Avocado Sausages |

Re: Cooking Time
Well, for the pasta here, I would go with smoked salmon or smoked halibut. My own personal fish for normal eating would be redfish - has a delicious taste and concistency in the flesh. Also, it is a beautiful fish, and easy to cook.

Re: Cooking Time
My favourite fish is the raw kind that comes with chopsticks. There's some crazy Asian word for it, but I just call it "Chopstick Raw Fish".

Re: Cooking Time
Well, I didn't think sushi counted, since it's not a type of fish - it is an individual piece of fish. But hell, sushi is awesome. Love that shit.

Re: Cooking Time
Baking Time:
I tried my hand at making Ice Cream Sandwiches the other day. I'm not sure if Tabitha was more impressed that I took the effort to bake something, that I didn't fuck it up, or at the quality of the result. Regardless, she said they tasted great, so here: Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 10x15 inch pan, line with parchment paper leaving enough to grab overhanging on the sides. Whisk together 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter and 1/2 cup white granulated sugar. Add 1 large egg and 1 tsp vanilla extract, then also add 1/2 cup all purpose flour, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 tsp salt (that's a stupid small measurement, so I just put in what I thought looked good). Stir until smooth, spread evenly on pan and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove, let cool on wire rack, then cut in half. Place one half (top side down), spread softened ice cream (Breyer's Double Churned Vanilla FTW) on it, place the other half on (top top side up). Wrap in plastic wrap, place in freezer until hard. If you need them to look fancy, you can then cut off the edges to make them all square and shit, otherwise just cut it out evenly into 8 "regular" sized ice cream sandwiches. Tabitha mentioned they are a little more filling though, so 12 smaller ones would likely be best if you're bringing them to a potluck or something like that. |
