Re: Games and all things related
Depends on the DLCs you have. Also ME 1 or 2?
And your playing style. My favorite class was Soldier and Infiltrator. And with the Firepower DLC, you can get a soldier, equip the Mattock assault rifle and get the M-98 Widow as well as a heavy weapon. That makes this soldier a perfect boss killer. If you have a choice of bonus power: Warp Ammo. I promise you, hell shall be raised. |

Re: Games and all things related
My first play throughs were both Infiltrator (well, I'm not done ME2 yet) mainly because I like sniper rifles and since the game is mostly find cover and blast away anyway, might as well do it from a long distance and headshot everyone.
But yeah, Vanguard can be a lot of fun with the right powers - singularity mainly. Create a small blackhole that picks up everyone/thing around it, allowing you to play "shoot fish in a barrel".

Re: Games and all things related
Nerox - None of the DLC's. But I think I'll try either Infiltrator or Vanguard then, not sure what my first character was all I know is I've forgotten the story of the part I played. Cheers.

Re: Games and all things related
Still, without DLCs, the soldier with the Widow and the Revenant is pretty good. The Revenant does 0.1x more damage to shields (1.4x instead of the 1.3 of the Mattock), but the Mattock is not fully automatic and is more precise for headshots. Adrenaline Rush is a good skill for damage as well. Revenant is pure fun in CQC against Husks. Just hammering 80 rounds in them.
The Infiltrator Slow-motion when you scope your Sniper rifle is pretty cool too, and the Cloaking is useful as well. Since I got the DLC with Kasumi Goto (a new crewmember), I have access to the Locaust sub machine gun which is in the hands of you much more efficient than the other sub machine gun (don't remember the name currently). Sadly the Widow has so few ammuniton...sometimes you have to go with the Viper. In ME1 I just started new with an Infiltrator, but since I have to bonus power: Assault Rifles, I mainly use them. So you can actually have a soldier with tech powers. Pretty neat, but you are not that accurate with the Assault Rifle, naturally. I might play as a Sentinel next playthrough, could be fun. |

Re: Games and all things related
Easily my favorite class. The one character that I played through both games with is Vanguard.

Re: Games and all things related
Been playing this little rpg spoof Magicka. Easily the best 10 bucks I spent in a long time. Its full of geeky humor reminiscent of the early fallout's. There is no level system, no real inventory. You get a staff and a weapon, which can be changed out to various other items as you progress through the game, each with varying properties.
The real meat of the game is the casting system. Simple to learn difficult to master type. There is no mana so you can cast all day. You get 8 'basic' elements, with near endless possible combinations. I probably spent a good hour just standing in the open testing out different configurations. Im on my second run through of the game and I barley scratched the surface of what is possible. Once you get the hang of it, it is thoroughly satisfying banging out spell chains, dropping arcane electrically charged mines, raising jagged hunks of earth spewing out lava. Its got co-op mode that I haven't tried yet, but that is suppose to be even better than single player. There is also a pvp element on the works to be release next month I think. Its a good game, and I recommend it to anyone looking for something entertaining and different from some of the other stuff out there. Edit:Also grab your towels, and prepare for the new edition of The Hitchhikers Guide. The project is still in the early stages of development, but fuck Im excited.
