Eurgh... I tried to care, but I'm just so fucking sick of Star Wars.

I mean so much of that clip was trying to emulate the films anyway - that guy's ship was a rip-off of the Millennium Falcon, it's still Sith vs. Jedi and Empire vs. Republic, and no soldiers ever seem to not dress like stormtroopers. I mean I get that it occupies the same universe, but it's like bad fanfiction.

You're right, but I suspect they wanted to convey this Star Wars "feeling" of the original trilogy. Millenium Falcon and all, smuggler saving the female protagonist, Jedi Master saving them all etc. Can't fault them for trying, but yeah, maybe it was a bit overdone.

But while I think Episode I and II were really "not good", I am still a Star Wars fan and hope they don't bugger up.

I am not a huge fan of SW or something, but I didn't have a problem with any of the films. Nor the games, but I didn't play that many of them. KOTOR 1 and 2, Jedi Outcast, and maybe one more.
That Old Republic trailer was fun to watch. True, what Tzu says, they repeat themselves, but there are simply not that many ideas out there anymore, so they just want to please the SW fans and public.

Of course the huge Star Wars releases follow the same pattern of JEDI vs. SITH + SMUGGLERS and STORMTROOPERS. It's been selling for almost 40 years.

Star Wars is an awesome universe, with the scope and leniency to tell awesome stories.

I would have liked to see more KotOR influences in TOR, like distinct ships (well, Ebon Hawk is a stretch...) and trooper armor, but I can understand and live with the need to keep things more mainstream Star Wars. Since I'll be playing a bounty hunter it just means I get to lay waste to the mainstream masses of the Republic.

Edit: Just watched the teaser for Halo 4. No, just no.

Supposedly Bioware is involving a story following Revan and what he ended up doing after he left for the Unknown Regions. At least, that's what they said on the official website.

Yeah, I've been following the story and all. I was referring more to KotOR mechanics and aesthetics. The rakghouls, for example, still look the same (if I remember correctly) while the Republic's armor is vastly different.

I've always found it fascinating that one of the worst authors to ever utilize the Star Wars universe is George Lucas himself.

KotOR II is one of my favorite RPGs of all time, but I'm not getting TOR. Knights of the Old Republic doesn't work as a massively multiplayer game to me, and I'm not enough of a Star Wars fag to get it on principle. Waste of fifteen (or whatever they'll charge) bucks a month since I would rarely play it.

That Guild Wars 2, though. Damn fine, damn fine. Day one.

And I can't believe I missed the epic ME2 discussion. Yeah, Vanguard all the way. The only class in the entire game where it's viable to never be in cover. Bad ass.

Yeah I imported my Vanguard character from ME to ME2, not gone too far in it, still trying to get Mordin or whatever his name is.
