Re: Games and all things related

The whole suicide mission segment is numerically decided. They don't explicitly tell you the stats, but Mordin is the weakest and most likely to die during the barricade fights, if you have disloyal troops/chose a weak leader. I always send him back with the crew when I rescue them.

Also... whole end plot didn't really make sense. Maybe I missed something because so much dialogue, but seriously... it's like they didn't know how to explain it so they just gave you a cool looking final boss or something. Oh well. Bring on the Reapers.
Yeah Mordin died on mine too. Damn it. I also got Jacob killed, a fact which I couldn't possibly care less about. The guy had the personality of brick....a beige one.

I only got Jacob killed. Got him sniped in the head when they were closing the door. I honestly couldn't care as I never used him and hated his character.

I still haven't gone past getting Grunt in ME2.

Also, Monday Night Combat is on sale on Steam today for 75% off. It's like TF2 mixed with a tower defense game, I highly recommend it.

Demi - don't read this.

Why on earth they were constructing a giant terminator in the first place? Again, the reason may have been in there, but it just seemed stupid. Was hoping for a better final villain and reason for the Collector's existence.

I can probably go google some answers later... or just wait until I finish it again.

Or this.

The Reapers build themselves with the genetic materials of the races they destroy during their purging cycles. The one we saw was a baby Reaper in the form of a human from the genetic materials obtained from breaking humans down. The Collectors were discovered by EDI to be Protheans that were enslaved during the last extinction cycle and heavily genetically modified to no longer evolve and to serve the Reapers (namely Harbinger) without question. Mostly to start the Reaper reproduction method we witness with the Human-Reaper.

I caught most of that from the game, but:

Why? Why a human form for what basically is a synthetic, interstellar roaming creature? The last Reapers don't look much like Protheans, if the whole reproductive angle is true. Why only human genetics when there are multiple other species? I shudder to think it is simply the human-superior stance of sci-fi. Why were they building this beyond the Omega 4 relay when the bulk of the Reapers were slowly drifting towards the galaxy?

It is kinda confusing.

But EDI theorized that the Reapers tried the same with the Protheans but failed, possibly due to their unique genetic structure, instead opting to indoctrinate and modify them to do their bidding. As to why humans, most likely the genetic diversity gave them the ability to select the optimum traits desired for the new Reaper form.

If you blast through the game, it is. If you sit down and read all of the shit they have in the ship's memory, it clears it up a bit.

The data on your crew from the Shadow Broaker is also an interesting read.

I haven't played the Shadow Broker dlc yet. Haven't had my 360 online in about a year.
