Re: What book are you currently reading?
After witnessing three episodes of the utter terrible "Camelot" series, I have decided to finally pick up my copy of Sir Knowles "Legends of King Arthur" which was given to me so many years ago when I was young. Unlike the show, Arthur runs around smiting and fighting a lot of people as a young, strong, impressive teenage king. Why couldn't they have made THAT a tv show?
Also reading "Bearers of the Black Staff" book one of "The Legends of Shannara" by Terry Brooks. He really isn't trying any more.

Re: What book are you currently reading?
ohhh @ACt there goes hours of your life you'll never get back lol
I think Arthur in general suffers from what we saw in Game of Thrones they have to avoid fighting due to the sheer production cost (its alot of man power in make-up effects, horses and their handlers don't come cheap, or the combat choreographers to make it look good) its easier to not to film it makes me worry about next season and the battle of Black Water

http://winter-is-coming.net/
according to this their still announcing cast members and in regards to conflicts they where dispelled when it was announced taht in order to maintain chronological order many scenes in the last episodes of the season will include sections of book 3 and vice versa ( as there was in fact overlap between several chapters in the second and third books)

I just picked up Cursor's Fury by Jim Butcher. Book 3 of his Codex Alera series.

Yeah, the whole battle between Rob Stark and Jamie Lannister and ESPECIALLY Tyrion's role in it being done off screen was a bit upsetting. But that's where they start from - I would guess budgeting will go up with the success of the first season. If we're lucky, they'll be able to drop a lot on Blackwater. @ Kael - I have to think, with Martin still with a lot of control, that they'll make as many accommodations as they need to. There was too much attention given to the series, fan and critical, for anyone to want to drop it. The beauty of the story is it is so fragmented that they don't actually need everyone on set at any time.

Re: What book are you currently reading?
Camelot had a good fan support. Mibs/ACt's opinions of it aren't the majority. The stars' schedules won't work for the next season so Starz had to cancel it.

Re: What book are you currently reading?
Well, you can add my wife to that list. And probably anyone familiar with the Arthurian Legends. Such a shame. I mean really, look at this picture and tell me who best fits that casting:
Because I think Gwenevere. I can't imagine how anyone can watch him and enjoy it - does anyone find him attractive? Anyway, now reading "A Darkness in Sethanon" the final book in the Riftwar Cycle by Raymond Feist.

Re: What book are you currently reading?
Finished "Moonwalking with Einstein" by Joseph Foer, which was about memory and what techniques people use to memorize crazy things like the random order of a deck of cards in under a minute. Rather interesting, though as I told someone on the subway when she asked, it isn't a self-help book that will improve your memory and the methods used actually take quite a bit of practice and work to master. Still, gives a lot of insight into how memory and the brain works.
Now reading "Daughter of the Empire", book one of the Empire Trilogy by Raymond Feist and Janny Wurts.

Re: What book are you currently reading?
Got done again with re-reading another book I've read before called "Beastly."
Honestly one of you could ya please recommend me something anything. Tired of re-reading some things. Books I use to get into in reading just arent that appealing to me anymore.

anyone have a good recommendation I'll need something new to read after I crank this book out over Christmas vacation . . . Vaguely tempted to read some McCaffery books (never did finish them all) but I hear they get pretty hit or miss after your done with her originals
