In depth For n00bs
First things first. Font.
Font- Advice: Make it simple, pleasent, nice. Not "Oh its linkin park font!" No, thats just..no. I tryed it, it never works with about 100% of the sigs (that dont suck) iv seen. Stick with something like Arial, or Century Gothic. Something Clean and simple, you can always use effects on it. But if you rather not heed my advice, or you doing a graphic arts project that isnt a sig here is a link for moar fonts; http://www.typenow.net/themed.htm (Thanks Gigbig) Background: Dont make it boring, plain and/or dull. Smudge, blur, spatter, etc. Make it as busy as you want, just make sure there is flow and its not graphical vommit. Stock: Not to big, not to small. Some sigs require a stock with no action going on, some with alot, and some that rest in the middle. You want to find a clean cut render...'cause it makes your life easier. Types of stocks: Render-Image with no background stock- Image with the background Stock:http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...tockpack65.jpg render:http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/DBZGOKU2.png Where to get them:http://rendergfx.ipbfree.com/ http://simplegfx.net/forums/forumdis...85001 b&f=210 http://s162.photobucket.com/albums/t...ocks/?start=20 http://planetrenders.net/ Gfx: Graphics. Aka what your doing atm aka:Also known as Atm: At the moment lol im jk: Lol im just kidding Brushes: Uhm....well they're what you use to erase, smuge, or paint...with. The type of brush determens the shape of the smudge, erase mark, etc. Where to get them: Deviantart.com Search: blah blah photoshop cs(what ever you have) brushes. (ex: Fire photoshop cs2 brushes) Sig: See Signiture Signiture: What your making. The dementions can be as small as very small and as big as holy fucking hell thats big. Sig sizes I recamend: 400x100, 350x100,300x100. Scanlines: Unfortunaly at this moment in time I can not find a tutorial on scan lines. But, scan lines are thin black (or another color) lines that are Used in the background or on the stock. Ill upload an example later. Background-The back most area of the sig. Example: The black of my captin america sig Bg: An abreviation of Background. Border: The design, shape, line, etc. that goes around the border. A way to do this is: when your finished with your sig go to New layer Image ( its on the left hand side, at the top) Click on it Go down to "Apply Image" Then go to edit Go all the way down to "stroke" ![]() Have those settings Click okay Cnc: Not sure exactly what it means. But when you see this make sure you do what is stated in this V link See also:http://forums.narutocentral.com/showthread.php?t=29113 Some Tutorials I suggest you try: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...tbyyojinr8.png http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ud_tut.bmp.jpg http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...spentutwn1.png http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...al_by_Dead.png (these should cover the basic things your gonna have to do to make sigs) On the advanced side of things:http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...myspawntut.jpg Moar advanced: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ltimatetut.jpg Tutorial Site:http://planetrenders.net/forums/index.php?showforum=20 Vids: ![]() http://rapidshare.de/files/5202660/Clone.wmv.html ![]() http://files.filefront.com/Jarheadwm.../fileinfo.html See also: http://forums.narutocentral.com/showthread.php?t=23749 http://forums.narutocentral.com/showthread.php?t=32070 How to render:http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...1183896654.png (8mg picture) Kay, now you have a sig. Re: In depth For n00bs
Also, a bit of graphics lingo would be helpful in your tutorial. Such as what brushes are, what "CnC" means (took me a while to figure that out myself), the meaning of "bg", "border", "scanlines"--stuff like that that complete beginners would have trouble understanding.

Yeah, make a tutorial, since you make great sigs. And what about making renders? Add that.

Re: In depth For n00bs
Very Nice Job, but your pics/links are somewhat on teh small side, making them almost impossible to see.
This is mainly Photobucket's fault, as they limit the size of uploads. Last edited by Tsuiton; 12-10-2007 at 11:15 PM. |
