Re: Games and all things related
Replacing your hard drive with a solid state drive should be upgrade #1, the increased seek/load speeds are fantastic and prices have dropped dramatically in recent time.

Re: Games and all things related
I heard that partitioning your system files onto an SSD and keeping the peripheral shit on an HDD worked well.
Dunno if there's any truth to that though. |

Re: Games and all things related
I've heard that as well, but I haven't bothered to try it because I keep all of my large non-game files on a separate drive anyway.

Presenting the world's "first true" headphone from Razer.
![]() 7.1 Surround with 10 individual drivers http://www.razerzone.com/tiamat/en Coming up, the world's first "true" mousepad from Razer, with 2 mousepads inside and positional light for when your aim gets lost. I like Razer products but the cliche is too much right now.

Re: Games and all things related
Razer has quite a few over the top products in the works. We've all seen their full size gaming laptop the Blade. Now at CES, they unveiled the new portable handheld concept the Switchblade. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiQ0AnlfBu4
With Min-Liang Tan's hypnotic tone, coupled with that music playing in the background. Kind of feel like he's about to unveil the next biosphere or some shit. Edit: God damn, I can't help but laugh at the level of seriousness in the first minute of the video. Last edited by Axiom; 01-17-2012 at 12:36 PM. |

If we could create the USS FUNK and spread the funky word throughout the galaxy, I'd play.

To funk where no man has funked before. Except for Shatner, because funk him, and funk the Enterprise, too.

It works very well, from what all of my computer geek friends have stated. They suggested using an SSD as a boot drive and use my current HDD for storage of games/itunes. |

Re: Games and all things related
Games and programs go on the SSD, otherwise you're not getting most of the benefits and pretty much wasting your money. I've just got a 100GB SSD and so far have plenty of space.

Re: Games and all things related
Jesus, how much did that cost you?
On another note, are HDD prices still inflated from the warehouse flooding? I was mocking up a build on Dabs the other night and prices for standard HDDs were way above what I was expecting. |

Re: Games and all things related
My SSD was about $160 or so, I can't really remember.
From what I can tell they are still inflated, I remember 1TB drives being available for $80 to $100, not the $150+ they are right now. |

Re: Games and all things related
^Good god it's a Malderator..
Hardrives - Prices for new standard HDDs are pretty decent where I shop at. $75 - 1TB, $99 - 2TB. SSDs are about where Mal puts them. $120 - 80gb, $170 - 128gb. In other news, anyone check out the new Street Fighter X Tekken game play vid? The last bit of it shows off the PS Vita version, with some surprising additions. Pac-Man and what I am assuming is an obese Mega Man. ![]() Why so fatty-lumpkins Capcom? |
