Shippuden_257
http://www.narutoget.com/watch/907-n...n-episode-257/
Oh thank God for this episode. Oh, it answered so much. Like, who knew Naruto wasn't liked by the citizens of Konoha when he was younger? And that he was a troublemaker? And lonely, and wanted to be recognized by everyone, and wanted parents? Oh, and the angst with Sasuke. I, for one, never picked up on the subtle nuances of previous episodes that would have lead a more observant person to realize Naruto was jealous of Sasuke. Truly, this episode opened my eyes. Thank you animation staff. Thank you. While you could have focused on filling in more action of the upcoming war, no. You took the logical step to show us more of what we've already seen. Sure, one could argue that no new information of importance was presented. And sure, expanding on the actual war is what most fans thought we wanted, seeing as how you managed to expand the preparations for the war last six months. A smaller person wouldn't be able to admit that wanting to see more of this ultra important event that's been building up in the anime for months now is truly secondary to having more memories of Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry. Because, you know, it's not like there are already a hundred episodes dealing with that already out there to view. And what about that new opening? Huh? Man, it makes the upcoming war look like it's going to be awesome. Glad we saw it, sure, the little people would call that opening a cock tease. But, luckily, animation staff, you know what us fans really want. Now, if only you could have managed to fit that fucking talking ostrich in, this would have been an episode worthy of greatness. Miyazaki would have been forced to flee the animation industry in shame of it's greatness. So thank you anime staff. Thank you for not chasing Miyazaki away. Re: Shippuden_257
The only thing I saw new in this episode was naruto directly asking the 3rd who his parents were. Other than that the whole episode was just flashbacks. Maybe the anime crew decided they needed some time off so they just edited together some old episodes so they can go play golf.

Emachina's sarcasm amuses me to no end. Keep going strong, brother!
On the episode itself, am I the only one who finds the opening underwhelming? It could be a lot better considering it's the war arc so it could have good chunks of animation with a more enthusiastic music, but it's just an average opening. |
