Yeah...Thats it...It's not like this is an isolated incident that could have played out in pratically any country in the world...oh wait...

In any case, there's no clear resolution to this situation that's going to leave everybody happy, and quite frankly it's almost absurd just how much attention this incident is getting, it's not that I don't get the releavence, it's just that everyone else seems to have blown it out of proportion.
The fact is, regardless of your standpoint in this issue it's unfortunate that it ended in the death of someone, regardless of race, kreed, culture, age, religion or otherwise, no one should have died in this instance. The problem is that both sides of this conflict have so severely polarized the circumstances without even one shred of significant evidence. On one hand you have the supporters of the kid, who piant him up to be Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and the most adorable puppy you've ever seen wraped into one, sorry but bullshit. I didn't know the kid personally (neither did the majority of his supporters) and by all acounts I doubt severely he was the axe wielding, gun toting, gang leading, terrorist that his detractors make him out to be, but at best lets be honest even if he was just an average american kid just going for a walk that day that still leaves him a far cry from the second coming of christ that he's sometimes portrayed as.
On the other hand, you also have supporters and detractors of the gunman, who, in some instances is sold as a paranoid, trigger happy, future leader of the kkk, or conversely as an red blooded, eagle loving, flag saluting, patriot who was just doing his duty as an American...Bullshit.
You know what it comes down to? some moron made a idiotic decision to follow a kid who looked suspicious even after the cops told him to back off, something happened, I don't claim to know what, but it ended with a kid lying on the ground dead. The only person who knows what really happened is the gunman, and I'm betting right now he's just wishing he had just left well enough alone. Nuff said.

The only thing I want to know about the Martin-Zimmerman case is what prompted Zimmerman to get out of his car... his actions reek of a vigilante who was enboldened since he had a gun. I'm sure neighborhood watch has protocalls as an organization tht didn't get followed that day ..and even as Zimmerman was on the phone with police dispatch they told him to back off..

I say don't arrest him .. give him his gun back and set him loose on the streets of florida and allow someoen else a chance to stand their ground.. I'm sure somoene will feel threatened by his suspicious gun toting ass!

I don't think stupidity needs a reason which is why its called stupidity. I live about 20 minutes away from where the shooting happened and everyone within a 50 mile radius are pretty pissed off with this Zimmerman dude calling it a racism at its finest. I personally am not buy into that crap because of all the mixed news I'm getting from every local channel and internet. Maybe Trayvon did give this guy a reason to be suspicious but at the end of the day its the guy with a gun who should be behind bars. The justice system in Florida is super shitty. We're the state that found Casey Anthony innocent of the obvious murder of her daughter but sufficient hard evidence couldn't be found. I expect something similar to occur and I'm gonna have to listen to the raging banters of all the hispanics, whites, blacks and everyone in-between for a good couple of months before this cools down.

The reason the black community is in such an uproar is there have been soo many cases of injustice and before someone brings up black on black crime this isn't what this topic i about... for instance the Amadou guy in new york was shot like 60 times by cops and they all got off, some kids ran over another black dude and got off, then there is the whole Jenna 6 thing , and some nut jobs in Oaklahoma went on a murder spree for two hours targetting black people .. after centuries of injustice I feel that most blacks would like to "win" one in the land that claims Justice for all.. not just ustice for those with a pigment defficiancy!

The case is so vague in evidence that it's hard to judge for certain what happened other than some Mexican decided to kill a black kid. Happens a lot in California, actually.

First of all, it's "people" you moron. Second...rioting? Nothing new or extreme there. It's Florida. There's riots everywhere.

For starters, the police fired 41 shots total in about 10 seconds, and 19 shots hit him. Not condoning the shooting, but if you're going to cite something use the actual incident, not some made up number.

Second, go into detail of what happened. Diallo matched the description of a serial rapist. When the cops tried to stop him to question him, he ran from them into his apartment building. He had his back to the cops, and was back lit so they couldn't see anything but a silhouette. When they confronted him again he was reaching into his pocket for his wallet, which with the lighting they assumed it was a gun, and that it was aimed at them. So, like any other reasonable officer, they opened fire (something all cops are trained to do, btw, not just New York). The lead officer, during the shooting, fell backwards and the other 3 thought he had been shot by Diallo.

Third, all 4 cops were initially indicted on second-degree murder and reckless endangerment charges. But the pretrial publicity made the trial location un-fair and biased. They were then acquitted by a mixed-race jury. I'll repeat that part, a jury of mixed races acquitted them. Not an all white jury, but a jury of several different races.

Fourth, all 4 cops are nowhere near that precinct anymore. 2 retired almost immediately after the trial, the other 2 transferred precincts, and I believe 1 of them has since retired.

Be more specific, otherwise we don't know if you're saying the truth.

You mean the 6 black kids beating 1 white kid to the point he had to be treated for a concussion and several other face/head/hand injuries? The kid recovered, but there was some nervous damage as he has chronic (meaning they'll recur for the rest of his life) headaches and bouts of forgetfulness.

Again, specifics.

Civil rights, affirmative action, equal opportunity, restitution... you mean those aren't "wins"?

If our justice system is still as awesome as it was with the Casey Anthony case I expect him to quickly leave Florida in the near future. Although I haven't heard about people shooting at police vehicles, which doesn't make a lot of sense to begin with. Although the Sanford black community is insane just like the Apopka and the west Orlando region so I wouldn't be surprised.

Central Florida is just plain weird.

I like how I tried to emphasize the point that the one trully important element in this case was that a kid died in the process and instead I'm being attacked with sarcasim as an uncarring bastard...OH WELL...

The point I was trying to make, was that although this case in unfortunate, I don't think it trully represents an actual NATIONAL problem to suggest an inherant societal issue. Rather, that though unfortunate in any light, this was more in tone with a communal issues, or perhaps at most a limited illumination on 1 state's particular issues with it's legal system. Beyond that however, I personally feel that this mournfull circumstance is just that, a mournfull, and limted circumstance represenitive of one small fraction of American society in one particular state. I live near chicago and for what it's worth I understand that kids die everyday, weather here in my home state as a result of gang voilence, or over in Burma as a result of focused genocide, all are unfortunate, sadly, few are trully significant...
