Finally some action...good chapter (anything moving with action is good). Kabuto is starting to look like beast (a dead beast but a beast none the less). Itachi jedi mind tricked his ass to pause and it worked (what a guy). Coming out of oro's mouth to cut itachi down was a good look. Also some translations are different but on the mangastream one itachi says i will enter inazami now (wtf does that mean exactly...if that is the right translation)...

I think the popular theory is that he used izanami on Sasuke when they looked at each other and if it is similar to izanagi, then it would have consumed his eye. He's given something to Sasuke's destiny (probably aligning it with Naruto's goals) which will help him out of this mess and deliberately allowed himself to be hit so remove his edo from this world. Because that's what Itachi does: sacrifice himself for the good of his brother.

My guess would be the former, as a stylistic choice to show that the slash was so powerful it blanked Itachi's senses. If it was Izanami, it'd close.

@uzumakinagato: Don't waste your time explaining how time flows in the manga to KYF. I still remember him thinking the time between panels is always the same!

Itachi may have gotten it off instantly when he raised his fingers. Remember he is the fastesst with hand signs, too fast for the eye to follow I think.

But unless Kabuto seared his wounds he will reform anyway. But he probably did that just to buy tie to reinsert the kunai, or throw Sasuke off balance to subdue him.

either way next issue BETETR bbe the end of this i am kinda bored with it. Izanami will not be some big uber thing but probably a small thing that results in something big.

We've seen Edo Tensei regenerate from Amaterasu, so "searing his wounds" wouldn't do a damn thing to stop Itachi from regenerating.
