Try watching Basilisk. It's a ninja anime, kinda like Naruto, but without the gayness, more blood, and awesome fight sequences.

I plan to watch Basilisk one day but I read it and that was pretty amazing that I bet the anime isn't quite as good. It's a well drawn manga.

I've watched all of blood+. Despite it starting off kinda slow, the pace picks up way more in the end. I'd put in on par with Hellsing easily. Once they really get into Saya's background, and introduce the other Chevalier, then shit hits the fan, and you'll get hooked on it quick.
