Victarion is seriously one of the people I'm most rooting for now, 'cause that's fucking manly as hell.

I liked it when I was reading the later books, because I hadn't had those characters or parts shown to me by the series, it allowed me to imagine them as I saw them, and Victarion looked badass.

Fair point, but poison is not manly. I admit, standing up to The Mountain is badass, but poison is normally a woman's weapon. Besides that, I liked his character a lot, especially with his interactions with Tyrion.

Qhorin Halfhand is badass as well, but I haven't added him, because he got too little focus and character building. He simply is not as fierce as Victarion.

Again good point. I might be swayed, depending on how the Sand Snake's play it out with Griff and his charge (Spoiler). They seem too brash and not as skilled as Oberyn himself, in politics and combat. Sadly he did after only a few chapters. Most of the better characters have the habit of dying off, haven't they.

Also, opinion on Dany in Dance? I thought it was pathetic most of the time. And Barristan Selmy? I like that old guy. Looking forward to his commanding skills in battle. (Spoiler)

Given that I haven't read any previous, I'm more concerned with the actual winter, the beginnings of which I had to drive through yesterday.

Just got back into bed after driving a friend to the airport for 4 in the morning (she was ready half an hour late -_-, I watched her pack for half an hour)
About 5 minutes after I started driving the snow starts to come down more heavily. It might actually stay for a whole this time.
Biggest problem is it was just melting when it hit the ground earlier today, which means now it's freezing, so the road is covered in ice. It's getting treacherous.

I'm not sure about winter conditions, I haven't driven in anything worse than heavy rain yet. As long as the driver's not going to fast (about 50-60% of the speed limit on ice) they should be just fine, as long as the ice isn't wind-polished.

If we're talking about weather, Hurricane Sandy is coming here. They're saying it might turn to snow and be like the worst storm ever. But they said bad stuff was going to happen with Irene last year too, and absolutely nothing happened.

They've also cancelled classes on Monday and Tuesday already for it, so that's pretty awesome.

Yea, we rarely get hurricanes here - last one was 23rd December, 1999. And hardly any damage was done. I think 1 person was killed from a flying piece of roof - but I guess that was pretty much it...
