Re: Games and all things related
Picked up Assassins Creed at midnight tonight. You guys should seriously chill on the whole aliens thing. Literally in the open credits it explains it a little bit more, they're not Aliens they were the leaders of a past civilization on earth.

Re: Games and all things related
Started my Outer Heaven XCOM run-through. Got Comrade (to be nicknamed Miburo) as a Heavy. James as a sniper. T9F as a sniper. Mal as a medic. Zero as a Heavy (and pretty damn accurate, too). Have yet to deploy Vanity in a battle. And Artan as an Assault that I'm going to deploy next mission.

I haven't touched ACIII, I've been busy working in the mines. Know how I know that but? And it wasn't through the internet, No. I finished the ACII trilogy and they explain all that in those two games. So I will continue to hate on Jedi Popes and Aliens.

Re: Games and all things related
Just watched the ACIII release trailer... so... the American government are assassins? Boy, that backfires.
Also, LOL "... as the British try to seize control of our country." Nice history lesson there.

Re: Games and all things related
Yeah. Still can't get over the idea that this is a "RAH AMMURICA" move to sell more games. Can't understand how replacing the "climb a famous building" aspect will be nearly as fun when it's "run through the trees." was really hoping for Revolutionary France. Also looks like they're going to pull a My Fair Lady transformation from a Native American boy (who apparently can already speak English) to someone who'll pass for white. Ugh.
Still won't bar us from getting it. Wife is going to see if she can sneak into a Walmart who's selling III with a free copy of II (which we borrowed). Limited quantities, so might not work out. By the way, the English are the bad guys... does that mean the Templars abandoned Catholicism?

Re: Games and all things related
It's also odd that most of the Founding Fathers were Free Masons, who claim to be Templar Knights. Or the fact that the majority of Native American tribes sided with the British during the both the War of Independence and War of 1812, or were neutral.
I'm kind of hoping all of the adverts are bait, and then that game finale is trying to kill Washington or something. It'll take such arse pulling to make the Native American protagonist an eagle-hearted AMERICUN FREEEEEDOM FIGHTA. I have no problem with the British being the enemy, and killing lots of us limey cunts, but I don't get why they've made the story so hard for themselves by making the character Native American. Re: Games and all things related
Apparently there's corruption on both sides. I think the marketing is trying to put on a patriotic vibe because it's election season and America is also a sucker for nationalism all year round anyway.
Obviously the only way to find out will be to play the game. Only thing I think will detract are the graphics - even in the launch trailer they noticeably look like crap. We've been stretching consoles for years, but I think we've finally gone too far with this one. Well, whatever the case, I've got work on friday so hopefully I'll be able to shift some of the AC3 PS3 bundles we have in the back room. |

Re: Games and all things related
If you could shift a PS3 into the post with my address on it, would be nice.

Re: Games and all things related
Or you could, y'know, buy one.
I'm thinking of getting one of the new super-slim models for the Deadly Premonition re-release next year. |

Re: Games and all things related
Yeah, I'm looking to either buy a super slim one or just a slim one. The 160GB Slim is £188 on Amazon and the Super Slim 12GB is around £159 I think.
