By "mandatory testing" I'm assuming she means standardized testing, like the STAR (which is a total joke), and I agree that such standardized testing proves nothing. Hell, all you do is review for two or three days in advance, which completely disrupts the teaching curriculum, and then take the test over the course of a week. If you pass it or score incredibly well, whoop-dee-doo, colleges don't care. If you fail it or score poorly, big fucking whoop, just means the school gets minus x dollars in their funding. Piss poor way of determining whether a school should get federal funding. I'd think over an hour of recess would be more distracting than helpful, but that's just me. Got nothing to say about Portugal because that sounds like a dandy system to me, and only reason the US can't just imprison the "banksters" is because they own the politicians. So that's not gonna happen, ever.

And prosecuting the bankers would essentially, in the case of HSBC at least, cause the whole bank to collapse and take several thousand American jobs with it. So not necessarily the politicians being owned so much as politicians wanting to avoid being blamed for killing that many jobs.

Portugal has the same amount of recess as Finland (75 minutes), so I assume it's done the same way: the 75 minutes are broken in 7 recesses, 3 with 15 minutes, 2 with 10 minutes and 2 with 5 minute. And it's not distracting at all, it's a fucking breather having those recesses disrupting two classes that are 90 minutes long each.

And it is. Drug consumption went down, cases of successful rehab skyrocketed and the only criminality related to drugs nowadays is catching drug traffickers smuggling their stash from Morocco to Spain.

About Iceland and charge the bankers for felony, there are many prominent voices in Portugal asking to do the same as Iceland did, but to politicians instead, because our banker/politician relationship is precisely the inverse of what happens in the US by what LN and Mal said.

That makes a lot more sense now. I was thinking it was a solid hour of just dicking around, plus there's got to be lunch, so that's like two hours of just goofing off. But when you've got breaks throughout the class day, yeah, that helps a whole lot. Probably why I'm doing much better in college than I did in high school.

ANYWHO, when I get some time I'm going to try to look up some of his stories. Hopefully this forum doesn't somehow go under until then. That'd suck if some of those classics that I know he probably wrote get erased before I could even read them.

Edit: I also don't mean that he was being plagaristic, or anything when using the word "probably", meant it in the sense that I might not consider them classics when I read them, but I probably will.

Are you saying you would want to have Mibs DNA in your baby instead of your own because you admit his gentic superiority of you, or that you want the baby to have both yours and his DNA at the same time because you got some kind of bromance going on with him? Either way is pretty messed up.
