I didn't so much mind all the love talk. It's pretty much in line with everything Kishi has laid down tot his point, moreso than a lot of random things he's introduced *cough*childofdestiny*cough*.

Go back to the start of the manga - what do we have? Naruto, a loner and impossibly terrible at ninjutsu and Sasuke, a loner and impossibly excellent at ninjutsu. Naruto begins to make friends/bonds and makes leaps and bounds in skill, winning everyone over. Sasuke improves but sees his progress slow and attempts to severe bonds completely to gain strength. Naruto finds roles, becomes a leader, occasionally more calm and focused in battle. Sasuke kills his master his brother and goes to war with everyone else to attain power and becomes increasingly maniacal.

It's more or less the whole Bonds theme except now we know that the Uchiha are nearly hardwired to follow this root once upon it. If Kishi had focused on bonds and comradery rather than friendship and love, it'd probably not feel a tad wishy-washy. It also sets up what I've predicted that as long as Sasuke has his eyes, he will be irredeemable. Sasuke to survive Naruto has to go blind. (or give his eyes to Naruto to resurrect the Ninja Sage).

All that said, good lord Hashirama. That was awful. I don't care if he was always meant to be this way and just didn't get a chance to be way back when, that is nothing like I envisioned him nor was it at all believable that the most powerful Konoha/Senju ninja acted like an over emotional moron. Every panel has had him with perhaps a slight smile or within the intensity of battle. I expected a far more Zen attitude. Numinous is right that it is shoehorning Naruto into the Hashirama role by making the personalities similar (as if that even matters) but it also means Naruto never needs to grow up... which as a kid, if he wants to be a bit crazy and irrational, fine. He's a kid. But I expected he was going to shed that more and more as he got serious about his role in the ninja world and facing Sasuke.

Ah well. Probably an impossible hope in the end anyway.

Good to see Orochimaru mastered the death god without ever really explaining why or how he came across that knowledge after being dead for a long while and focusing on just training and capturing Sasuke for the rest. I mean, you'd think if he'd figured it out, he'd go get his jutsu back, take a new body THEN try and absorb Sasuke... ugh.

i'm wondering, why tobirama chose sarutobi as hokage, while it seems that danzou has the same personality/ideals of him..

He chose Hiruzen because he was mustered the courage to sacrifice himself for the village while Danzou didn't. Tobirama puts the village above anything else, as demonstrated by this chapter, so the choice was clear.

Furthermore, it's unclear if Danzou already had similar ideals back then or if he acquired after/because Tobirama died.

you know i thought it would take Oro some time to adapt to his new body. He quickly absorbed white zetsu within a matter of a few panels. Before Sasuke joined Oro squad it took him quite some time. Also odd exchange between Minato and Oro..So Oro studied lost jutsus and info on lost clans. A Uzumaki jutsu from the start. Vaguely stated but I guess that is as much as we are gonna find out about the Death God mask...Hokage level intellect at that age....damn Itachi...

Oh dear God, the Uchiha's are from the planet Vulcan. Strong emotions drive them crazy and eventually kill them. Wasn't this a manga about ninjas? Added to that the first Hokage is a retard and the second Hokage is a racist. There is a dent so huge in my wall from bashing my head after every chapter since Hinata's love declaration it's going to cost me a small fortune in spackle.

Who cares how hashirama acted lol doesn't take away from the fact that he can still wax that ass anyday of the week. Gotta see what minato says to sasuke i wonder if minato knows if whats going on after all he left his chakra in naruto before interesting to see how that works.

What I got is Tobirama was basically saying Madara's only equal will be Sasuke. Both Madara, and Sasuke lost their villages, and they're brothers. Sasuke's eye power is boosted and either he didn't know, or he didn't say anything. 2 things Madara has over Sasuke currently, experience, and a Rinnegan. Sasuke will get the Rin, thats a given, but Madara's situation should have stopped after the loss of his brother correct? As soon as Sakura's ass is toast, (her character is dying panel after panel, the only reason Tsunade existed as long with merely a fucking punch was Senju + Kage, and healing which Sakura is nowhere in her league currently, or will ever be.) Sasuke will boost again, as his sharingan luv will overflow with naruto's/kyuubs rage, ya heard it here first, easy.

Orochimaru, the voice of reason, and explanation in the room, even to the point of checking Minato, 'Bro you and that Uzimaki Broad had sealing skills, just like your basic assed Edo Tobirama, my assistant upgraded that shit, but ya'll didn't know everything,thats what I want to know....Bitches. Who'd a thunk it?

Btw does it mean that Orochimaru will be hosted in Zetsu's weak assed clone body, and doesn't that limit him?

Lastly, was it only me, but Hara looked disappointed that Tsunade was Hokage, and worried as fuck?

Brilliant chapter, no fighting needed to generate interest. Love the different personalities of the Senju brothers. Gave us a real insight into what the REAL Senju and Uchiha were like. No wonder Tobi saw so much of the 1st in Naruto. That was a nice touch Kishi and I'm loving Tobirama right about now, lol.

He is no nonsense boi. I think we've found Danzou's hero. First he creates Edo Tensei, the most immoral of all kinjutsu's. Then, as hokage treats and the Uchiha's like shit, for the sake of the village. Lol his excuse, because they are invariably evil so what was he suppose to do? Brilliant.

Told Hashi to be quiet, I'm taking man, silence, lol. It makes sense the sharingan being a seal that is awakened and strengthened through emotion. We were lead to believe, that emotion was hatred but it turns out to be love, extreme feelings of love. It seems more likely that Tobi story of Izuna willingly giving Madara his eyes were true after all.

Kudos to KDY for theorizing that the sharingan is a seal, and of course the usual suspects ridiculed you post usual. Strip away your story telling, the code of the story was actually true, according to the 2nd. Never thought of the sharingan being the result of a seal broken, and it connects with the fact that it can be sealed through overuse of MS or their kinjutsu's.

What's Sasuke gonna do about Oro after this convo? Oro is looking very much OP'd at the moment. I wonder what he has planned with all that power.

Finally, you know a fanboy couldn't leave without paying homage to his King. My leige, lol and to the displeasure of many, Itachi shines once again. What a shinobi! Ain't wanked in awhile, but ain't forgot how to do it though lmao. At 7, had hokage like reasoning, mastering the sharingan the year after. Goes MS at 12, maintaining it for a decade. Upon death, was so skilled, astute and powerful, capable of fucking up, ANY ones day, if you dare touch Sasuke. Rofl.

Kishi is borrowing from star wars?! Oh dear. That makes sense now on the difference between madara and shisui. Those that go towards the light and controlling emotions end up like itachi and shisui while those who feed on their emotions end up like sasuke and madara. That explains a lot such as shisui's jedi mind trick, sasuke's burst of power from his negative emotions, and even why madara went from good guy to bad guy simply cause he feared for the safety of his brother which led him to the dark side. It doesn't surprise me but Im wondering why I didn't see this sooner. I guess that is also how they are gonna make sasuke powerful enough to face naruto even with the kyubi upgrade.

As for hashirama, not surprised since the last few times he appeared was when his emotions were mostly blocked and he was little more than a mobile doll under control by orochimaru. With his emotions restored the real him is coming out and explains why madara and him initially had such a strong friendship despite being rivals. It was only after madara went deep into the dark side after the death of his brother that convinced him to go the same route that sasuke is heading towards now. I guess the minato and hashirama will make that clear to sasuke in the next chapter.

I understand what Tobirama meant by "why" the uchiha clan is cursed...

It is because the uchiha are more inclined to love and bonds beyond even the senju. However, because the shinobi world almost guarantees one is going to lose that love and bonds over time makes them cursed by their powerful love and bonds that is going to inevitably becomes Hate, anger and negative feeling after they lose those feelings... Which will makes them more powerful through the SG...

So, they are actually cursed by their own feelings... And because itachi was taught Shisui's philosophy, that is why he had enough control over his emotions to not fall down the cursed path the other uchiha had before him, while still wielding one of it's greatest powers.
