... wut?

I see discussion of The Hobbit on the previous page. My opinion of the movie was that it had absolutely terrible pacing. Understandable, since it was based on a book and can't be too different in that regard, but I imagine they could have the entire experience much more enjoyable in a single movie. There is much that could have been cut, which would have been awful for mega fans or whatever, but would have ultimately resulted in a much better movie.

The only benefit I see from the stretch into three movies is the added ~200% money or everyone involved.

From what I've read the third and final movie is going to be a bunch of extra stuff. Basically, the an extra 30 mins on the 2nd movie and you could call it a wrap. I still want to see them though.

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

It should have been a 2 part movie. I wasn't really impressed by the 1st film. It had horrible pacing like Mal said, and there weren't any really awesome parts in it. Just one long string of encounters that were at best "meh".

Visually it was pretty good. The land of the Elves looked great. They threw in a few too many waterfalls to be believable, but that's a minor complaint. Saruman being a douche was great and all, but Radagast had me cheering him on. Him and his rabbits were just awesome.

Truthfully, I only watched it for nostalgia. Ever since reading the book as a kid I've always wondered what that damn dragon would look like on the big screen.

Also, elves suck. As bad as (most of) them were in LoTR in running away from middle earth like pussies, them turning their backs on the dwarves like that in the hobbit was much worse. Oh look a dragon. Not our problem......bunch of douchebags.

On The Hobbit briefly I'll say you gotta admit the CGI within that movie was pretty badass.

Side note I have no idea why us Nebraskan people always have to ask for damn barque sauce. Literally all day had to tell customers no we don't have barque sauce.

Give 'em some "special" sauce!

Edit:
@ama
I'm pissed, because during all these movies, we've only had two women to look at... Arowyn and Galadriel. (Another reason I would have liked to seen Bombadil... his lady).

Well, specifying a time zone really fucks your five o'clock somewhere logic, but that shouldn't matter. If I have a day off, beer all day.

I'll eventually see them, I just won't pay to see them in a theatre. Maybe wait until their on Netflix or a friend buys the Blu-ray.

Give Radagast his own movie and I'll watch the shit out of that.

Wait, don't you work at a chicken finger place? How can you not have barbeque sauce? It's not just Nebraskans, it's all of humanity that expects barbeque sauce to be available for their chicken.

Man I'm straight as fuck but Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn was all I needed in the LotR trilogy. Cate Blanchett as Galadriel was just a much appreciated bonus. And Liv Tyler's okay too I guess.

So when I was checking IMDB to make sure I spelled "Mortensen" correctly I stumbled upon The Throbbit

Re: The Longest Thread Ever v28

Mal,

The time zone rule is a self-induced practice. But there are others who do the 5 o'clock rule, and then sing that song.

I'm a straight man too... and I like sausages just as much as any straight man... but it would be nice to have some... patties instead of sausages more often then there has been in Peter Jackson's takes on Tolkien's works.

Edit:
The Throbbit... good I hope this isn't another "official" parody. When I was reading your post, I thought porn parody at first (these are so much better than these "official" parodies), but then I clicked the link and was disappointed.

I thought so as well when I started but turns out we don't have any. Just our special Cane's sauce, ketchup, mayo package and hot sauce.

It's been over a year since I've been to one, but the southern chicken finger chains don't offer BBQ sauce either. They offer the "home/special" sauce, honey mustard, or gravy. Actually, the more I think about it, the only places that did offer it were McD's, BK, and Chic-fil-a.

Yeah they're just pussies. I am perfectly happy to admit that, were it not for the fact that I drive for a living, I would absolutely be a functioning alcoholic. Why should it matter what I do in my personal life if it doesn't affect other people in any way?

I know, I expected porn as well. Obviously fucking is the only way such a movie could be any good.

It's not just the fucking. What's their names... Evan Stone and Randy... can't remember... old guy... they're f'n hilarious. The fucking is just an epic, awesome bonus.

But it's titled Throbbit? Now, I'm somewhat of a computer nerd, but I'm not up on all the lingo and shit... but how does "Throbbit" pertain to nerds and geeks, unless in a pornographic way?

Seemed clear to me from 1st glance..didn't mistake it for a porn parody, perhaps if it titled "deep Throbbit" i would've.

I have no fucking idea. I think they may just be hoping that people pay to watch it in the hopes that it's porn and somehow totally miss that is lacks an NC-17 rating. But then why wouldn't they just make it porn to begin with? It's all just stupid.

Studying for my A+ certification exam and the thing that kinda sucks is that CompTIA removed the whole lifetime certified thing and now you have to either retake the test again every three years or pay a yearly fee to remain certified. Same thing with the Network+ certification.
