Well Edo Tensei is a forbidden jutsu and Tobirama seems to be the type to not resort to such methods. Using Shadow Clone with his FTG yeah he should of been able to at least escape....The threat obviously was real...but with those two jutsus it's hard to perceive how such a man went down. Using ET you need the material and a live body. Sure he could of took one down after the other but that all depends on the situation...If the men came at him one on one..he has the upper hand but if they came at him all at once...he had to maneuver in and out of attacks just to get dna, then go to a live body perform the ritual all while going on the offense and defense. Tobirama seems to only be capable of making two-four clones tops.. (He was only able to make two clones in this war.) Also sure using ET is cool and all but the resourcefulness of the jutsu comes from the talent of the shinobi. They didn't seal him or seal him in one of the sages weapons. As his body was found and later laid to rest.
