Re: Top selling manga 2013 (all year)

Hahaha, Kingdom outsold Bleach!!! JUSTICE IS SERVED! Kingdom is such an addictive manga.

I've seen people (read: rabid fanboys) on other sites talking about how Naruto sales somehow show how good the manga still is, oblivious to the fact that most of it has to do with the manga's climax bringing old fans back into the mix just for the ending. I can promise you when OP, SnK, or magi eventually reach their own climax in a few years, the sales will be vastly greater then a paltry 5 million, by leaps and bounds.

I'm a bit surprised to see HxH on the list, especially so high up. I can't remember the last time they even released a new chapter.

Re: Top selling manga 2013 (all year)

Shingeki no Kyojin coming for that number one spot! As predicted by pretty much everyone Shingeki manages to blast its way to number two right behind One Piece. Though Considering the fact that Shingeki has less volumes and is a monthly is it safe to say that Shingeki is the most popular manga of 2013? Just saying numbers don't lie.

Magi is at a nice place at number four. Kuroko no Basket is at a well deserved third. That manga is awesome as well.

Snk won't see numbers this high again. Like the MF war, the excellent anime prompted people to buy old volumes in order to catch up. Things should normalize since the buying spree is likely over, and the anime is on halt.

If you look at the sales per volume list, from position 5 to 15 it's all old Snk volumes.

Re: Top selling manga 2013 (all year)

Recently watched the Shingeki no Kyojin anime and my god it was just fantastic. I really hope they make more episodes I know that the manga is only a little bit further ahead now. Reading the manga to catch up now.

Thinking of starting Kuroko no Basket afterwards, anyone able to give me a brief summary of it ? I mean it made third here so gotta be good.

Highschool basketball done in an anime style. Story follows the highschool basketball team of Seirin High which is where the two protagonist of the story go. Tetsuya Kuroko the phantom sixth member of the generation of miracles and Taiga Kagami the teams ace power forward who wants to be the best in Japan. Taiga Kagami lived in America for several years and learned to play basketball there.

The generation of miracles is a nickname given to Teikō Junior High's basketball team who became National champions 3 years in a row. Each member of the generation of miracles all went to different schools when entering highschool. The teams these players are on are what we'd call the rivals of the series.

I'd say more but then I'd be giving to many spoilers away. My advice is check it out since it's allot of fun though it may not necessarily be for everyone since its not a battle manga.

Another surprise is Toriko being so low on the list. This series has gotten all the advertising in the universe and it has only managed to break top 10 once.

Meh, kinda lost interest in Feng shen ji. Got into Wow lore recently and I'm loving it, the books are fantastic. Shokugeki no souma and Dragon rioting too, those series are hilarious.

Sorry to say, but Toriko is a lost cause when it comes to all of its advertising. Let's be realistic, Toriko's concept isn't as easy of an hook as Naruto's or One Piece's, and its writing isn't on SnK level to push it further.

Speaking of SnK, thank Cthulhu that it (and Magi) kicked Naruto out of the podium. Hopefully, when Naruto finally ends, people will just forget it and discuss Magi and/or SnK instead.

Can someone say a new era of HTS?
I think SNK takes over OP next year and it will be a Seesaw back and forth between SNK until either series concludes.
KNB and Magi will fight for 3rd and good-fucking-bye to Nardo and Blech.

Anime.

I just checked and it seems like there has been an episode every week, that'll definitely drive sales.

Quotes for noobs (learn how to break up a quote)
Quote:
Originally Posted by minato uchiha View Post

So you can post the second bit and i shouldnt be allowed to if i dont tell you? Why be so rude?

Anyways, here is a quotes for noobs guide

1. A basic quote

[*QUOTE][*/QUOTE]

(the * need to be removed for it to work, I put them in so you can see the text) is a basic quote that just wraps something in a quote without saying who quoted it who quoted so

[*QUOTE]this is a quote[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:
this is a quote

Edit: there is a button for this, it looks like a speech bubble. If you select text and then press the button the selected text will automatically be wrapped with the quote tag

2. A quote that says who said it

[*QUOTE=who said it][*/QUOTE] this adds who said the post, manually putting that there can be useful when quoting something external. Example:

[*QUOTE=Mangastream]Remember all you sexy bastards out there, Naruto, Bleach, OP, FT, etc. all on break this week. Feel free to take your rage out on us[*/QUOTE] without any * would look like
Quote:

3. A quote that says who said it and links to the post where it was said

[*QUOTE=who said it;X][*/QUOTE]

Where X is the post number.

For the post that i originally quoted it would look like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey, how do you break it up please and if your not willingly to tell me, then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]

That is what you get when you press the quote button.

4. Breaking up a quote

Now that you know how quotes work it all boils down to preference, how you want it to look like and how you want to do it.

One way of doing it is copying the latter part of the original quote [*/QUOTE] and then pasting it after each section you break up, write your reply, choose the text you want then paste it after that portion, repeat till you finish the go back and copy then paste the first part of the text at the beginning of each portion of text. Of course you can immediately copy and paste both parts of a poste so that you dont forget one in the end.

The end result would be something like this

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which without any * would look like

Quote:

Another way of doing it would be to cut and paste the second part of the quote tag after the first section of text you want to seperate then write your reply select the second part and hit he quote button (it looks like a text bubble),if you do that without anything else the end result would be

[*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164]Ok Stubborn donkey,[*/QUOTE]
My reply 1
[*QUOTE] how do you break it up please[*/QUOTE]
my reply 2
[*QUOTE]and if your not willingly to tell me, [*/QUOTE]
my reply 3
[*QUOTE]then please DONT offer me no advice in future[*/QUOTE]
my reply 4

Which would look like

Quote:

To make it like the previous example (which wpuld be preferred, though not necessary ) copy the part that says who posted with the link to the post and paste it accordingly to the proper part in each first half of each quote tag. In my I would copy =minato uchiha;2118164 and paste it where the # is
[*QUOTE#] to get [*QUOTE=minato uchiha;2118164] (of course with the * removed)

Of course you can use any other method you like to get to the end result, but now that you know what the end rwsult looks like I think there shouldnt be any problems
