why was bleach called bleach??

Why was Bleach called bleach??? they gave this anime show a weird namey... was it bcuz it was about death gods purifying hollows..so they thought about how bleach would clean out the dirt??? >.<

"I read somewhere once that Bleach was a reference to the band Nirvana's first record entitled "Bleach". Considering how big of a music fan Kubo Tite is, it makes sense to me that the title would be music oriented. Also, Nirvana (the band and the word) have several key meanings that could probably all apply to the show in one way or another. The largest thing that sticks out in my mind is the obvious connection between Nirvana and the afterlife. But at the same time, the band brings the whole concept of not conforming. So, if it is a case where it's a nod towards Nirvana, I think the title takes on a great deal of depth that can really be analyzed."
