You Dont need a codec pack(or Any codec) to watch any anime on VLC.It's built on a different technology then WMP. BUt if you want to watch Rm video's on it you then need the Hack Real Codec. Check Doom9 for it, But It might Play it now. Dont remeber RM Sucks So I have not tried for awhile..

get Windows Media Encoder u can get a video capture of ur computer screen
or u can snapshot

VLC can play any file fomat it does for me at least i have no problem with the NC downloads i have there episodes, and they fine with VLC.

for those who will be doing snapshots with there vlc u can do a short cut by right clicking and going down to video and click on snapshot.
