I'm not saying to pretend they don't exsist I'm saying that if you don't want to help the ones with problems then just let them be and quite putting them down, and I'll tell why it's not lame as soon as you give me the reason it's lame so far all I've heard is your opinion and a few references to attention whores not those who are just dark for their own reasons, and to tell you the truth the whole reason I'm even bothering with this argument is because I'm boered too, I just have a different point of veiw then you do. and I'm not whining by the way, why is it that you seem to think just because I disagree with you and I'm sticking up for emo's that I'm whining?

You're disagreeing with me, but that's it. You're not telling me how I'm wrong or anything, you're just saying that I'm wrong and that I should stop...picking on the gothmos or whatever, but give absolutely no reason or justification as to why. That's whining as far as I'm concerned.

I already listed reasons why gothmos are lame, you even said that those traits were right on except that they're not all suicidal, even though that's not even something I suggested in the first place. If I really have to explain to you why writing horrible poetry about dying, being dumped, and petty egocentric problems all the while cutting yourself, proclaiming to be 'dark,' listening to Linkin Park, and wearing mascara and black clothing/dying your hair black like a freaking attention whore is lame that I don't know what to say. Throw in the fact that most of them think they're being unique even though they're no different than members of any other social click (most of which they usually tend to hate, ironically enough) and that's pretty much the definition of lame.

Heh, now that I've gotten to thinking about it, I can't see why anyone who isn't a douche would want to even be associated with that particular social click. Before I was mostly joking, but now I think I'm really starting to dislike gothmo. ^^;

Ok, heres my thing, i don't think anyones looked into the root of the issue and the origin of "emo".

Emo, hmm lets think, what word does that resemble? Oh i know! emotional.

In my opinion Emo's are just extremely emotional people who hide under a facade of anti-socialism and "extreme" behaviour in order to gain attention and "help" from those surrounding him/her.

So the main difference between Goths and Emos to me, is that Goth's don't generally cry out for attention (as far as im concerned), they generally keep to themselves and do not self-mutilate solely for the purpose of gaining attention, (or due to emotional demention) most extreme "goth" like activities are centred around devil worship and the dark arts. (which would sorta explain the blood sacrifices and so forth).

So in a sense Miburo is right, emo's are really just wannabe hardcores.
