I dont know about japanese but the school boards in america ad going to start teaching I think Chinese alongwith spanish and french......are you trying to write or speack Japanese?

the fastest way to learn japanese is to stay in Japan for a while with no1 speaking english...it reli helps

im trying to speak and write japanese !! they say japanese laguage got loadz of character !!! is it true . i wish i can go to japan but unfortunately i dont have a plane !!! hehehe

id like to stay in japan but ..... maybe one day i will go there !

im in 9th grade and in japanese class they have over 1000 characters i think and we are slowly learning them so you enjoy trying to learn the language

You need to know 1500 Kanji just to read the paper, then there is katakana, hirigana, romanji ect.... You need to know all of them to write.... Talkin is another matter.

I think learning Japanese is a good idea. If your school somehow gets a japanese language class, that's good. The easiest way to learn, for me; is to watch LOTS of japanese anime (and try to learn the vocab, of course) and then like Chizuru said, listen to alot of japanese speaking people without japanese. You could probably pick up alot of things from that.
Also, if you wanna teach yourself, you can always learn from internet websites and books!

I'd say learn a language that is useful, but it's your choice. =/

Watching loads of anime helps, you tend to pick up most-common japanese phrases and words..
