It's a retarded bot with the wrong information. The story was originally called "Snipe" due to everyone but Rukia using guns, while Rukia used a scythe ("Snipe" referring to "Sniper". Kubo then decided that swords would make for a better story and felt that calling it "Black", since the shinigami wore black uniforms, would be too boring. He wanted to use "White" but the same thing, so he used "Bleach" as an association with "White".

Also, "Soul reaper" is the Viz translation for the target younger audience. "Shinigami" translates into "death god" in Japanese.
