Yup this is ninja taisen 3 for the gamecube and i know because i on this game!
If you are planning on buying it then i suggest you do...its a really cool game and if you love naruto then this is for you^^

Also, the Narultimate Hero games for the ps2 are apparently being released here in Summer. Don't know for sure, though.

3 on 3? Sounds unlikely.
All the Naruto games that I know of is either 1 on 1, or RPG or something like that.

Dnt know about 3. I own GNT 4 and its great. You can have 3 v 3 team battles. Naruto Sakura Sasuke v Neji Rock lee n Tenten. you can pick any 3. There are team specials also. Best team special is Jiraiya Orochimaru and Tsunade.
