its pretty much impossible to OD on marijuana. it should definately be legal. it is stupid that it is illegal. it is less dangerous than alcohol (which is served at public events such as ballgames and leads to fights), taxable, and has medicinal value. there is no good reason for it to be illegal.

That's actually a common myth. Pot lowers the blood pressure quite a bit and while it may be impossible to smoke so much that you die, it can do other things that could cause you to die. For example, if you drink a lot of coffee with it, your blood pressure will lower as your heart rate rises, which can cause several problems.

It is also far less widely used than alcohol, so there is not quite as much truth to saying that it is less dangerous than alcohol. I also explained why it has NO real medicinal value.

When I first saw the title of the thread I was going to smack you with the der der derrrrrr stick!

Well I feel it should stay illegal.

I think they should ban a lot of stuff in this world. If they decided to ban something out of the blue then it would be hard to stop all of a sudden.

People who want to smoke weed bad feels like they want that drug because it gives you a high you just can't shake off.

It is like when you are turned on. That feel you get is from your body being druged by chemicals that effect your horomone. So technicly you are high or druged up so that is why you tend to do thing you wouldn't normally do when you are not turned on.

That is how a person on Marijuana is like.

Idiots to those that say ban everything.

Lets say you ban alcohol. What do you think happens? People following the law? No. There will be a bunch of drug stores that sell alcohol. And guess what? The government cannot acknowledge the drug wars going on from specific people wanting to control a territory to sell their drugs.

Second, Marijuana is a THC oriented drug. Obviously it messes around with your brain. But the effects are temporary and, if taken responsibly, hardly amounts to any damage (from current studies). Long term addicts will have memory problems, just like alcoholics have those anger problems. However, we all know that a sip of beer would not distort your vision (unless you are rock lee...). Responsibility is key.

Thats about it. Marijuana should be slowly introduced. Illegalizing it is dumb (scientifically).

People screw themselves up in different ways every day. In my opinion we can't just live our lives in metaphorical "bubbles", sitting at home, wrapped in a blanket, staring at the wall. Everything you do in life has a risk, and if you know the risk that makes it less dangerous.

Drink booze - wreck your liver, get jaundiced, possibly become dependent, die...
Smoke cigarettes - wreck your lungs, get cancer, possibly become dependent die...
Smoke pot (eat pot, whatever) - wreck your lungs, kill some brain cells, possibly become dependent, die
Eat a burger - clog your arteries, get heart disease, possibly become dependent, die...

Ya see, it can happen with nearly anything. So as long as its done responsibly, I say go ahead and smoke the ganj. But from my experience, drinking first, then smoking up = badness, with puke and such. But that can happen anyways from drinking your face off, or chain smoking.

Your body, do what you will with it.

It is also far less widely used than alcohol, so there is not quite as much truth to saying that it is less dangerous than alcohol. I also explained why it has NO real medicinal value.

i'll take them in the order they appear. most people would collapse a lung collapse long before smoking to lower their blood pressure that much barring any medical condition. pot would at most (and in a rare few cases) be a contributing factor (thats also technically not death by OD either). secondly, i'm so sure that's its used less than alcohol (i'll look up the numbers - i could be wrong here but i'd be really surprised). but even if it is used less, drunks are far more dangerous than potheads. thirdly, there's plenty of research supporting its medicinal value.

this aside, if the government isn't concerned about cigarettes or alcohol (which it shouldn't be - its people own choice what they do in this extent) paternalism should not be a basis for making laws. i don't see much bad coming from legalizing pot...amsterdam hasn't collapsed yet after all...

besides, we already so much problems with drugs already- trafficking, and no doubt the rising number of users, why must we legalize another one?
I meant under intense care and careful medical perscriptions.

Yeah. It's true. But I still say yes. Why not? It wouldn't be out in the open or anything.

I look at it this way, if cigarteets are legal then pot should be legal, at least with pot ther''res a lot of fun to be had, what do cigaretes do? that right they just kill people, you'll never see a movie devoted to the lame ass art of smoking cigaretes, but pot is almost always funny.
