some points to comment on:

1) the government is perfectly capable of taxing marijuana if it were legal
2) marijuana CAN BE addictive - it is psychologically addictive, meaning you could become hooked on it. however, anything is potentially psychologically addictive (one could even be psychologically addicted to posting here or eating buffalo wings). marijuana, unlike crack or cocaine is not physically addictive in that after trying it a few times your body starts craving it.
3) marijuana does impair you (usually in enjoyable ways) as well as relaxes you
4) slapping people who act annoying and hyper after smoking is a perfectly reasonable course of action, especially if you are high as well. some people are needlessly annoying.

It should be legal. Therefore people can be dumb enough to kill themselves slowly, but at least they have fun and think they are god while doing it. This does not matter, we don't have time to worry about this, drugs are drugs, we make them illegal, there is a 77% more chance that kids will still do it out of peer pressure.

marijuana is legal in some country... somewhere in europe.. i forgot the name...
but you can only have it when needed as drug for a certain illness.... shall we say cancer.
so that's why they made it legal. but you cannot buy it for smoking and pot purposes.

amsterdam is full of coffee shops where you can. i think vancouver, bc recently allowed coffee shops and some places in california are considering it.

Marijuana, or in other words cannabis, should be illegal. It does something wrong with our mental and physical capacities that tolerates you to do something harmful to others. so... it should be illegal, no matter what the sircumstances are...

Man, when people go into debate threads, I'd say 90% of them don't look into the whole thread.

Cannibus, technically, is not as bad as alcohol or cigarretes. All three of them are bad in reality (and are also gateway drugs), but weed is singled out and made illegal.

I remember hearing from some of you that people kill for weed. I've never heard of cases like that, ever. Completely new to me. A source would be nice.

marijuana does not cause hallucinations. u cant overdose from it, i think it was u need 50k times the amount u smoke to get blazed to overdose. i think they should legalize it and tax it, govt makes more money, pour it into programs wehre we need more money (education, public health etc)

umm, i dont really hear cases of ppl killing ppl over mairjuna, isnt that more of the hard drugs like cocaine? plus marijuana isn't physcially addicting, its psychologically addicting, and from what ive observed, your shortterm memory tends to get shot. also, drinking is ALOT MORE DANGEROUS, the stats proving this? drunk drivers dieing and killing other ppl, compare that with how many "ppl kill over marijuana". govt prolly would have trouble taxin it cuz ppl can grow their own, particularly if it legal cuz u cant bust ppl nemore if its legal cuz their house stinks of weed lol.
