i'm not even saying wicca is witchcraft. it's not. i know this (i speak from experience). and i've done some research. when wicca first came around (from what i researched) it was between early 19th century and somewhere in the 50's. it's roots are somewhat celtic. i'm tired now. i'll be back with more...DO YOUR RESEARCH!!!!

I mis spelled it in my rush, it happens. And for the final time, I'm not a true Wiccan because I use my powers mostly for bad and barly ever good. And for that, my spells come back at me but I've gotten used to it. My friends Chris, Molly, Paul and Rose are Wiccans. They are the group I was talking about. Okay, listen because I'm only gonna say this once more. Wiccan's believe in a spirit known as the Divine and if the Divine sees it fit then (s)he will grant you permission to cast the "spell"
Witchcraft is evil and Wicca is about healing. True, we use Magick but it's diferent from Witchcraft because the Wicca Law clearly states that if you bring harm to others in the Wicca name then it will come back onto you 3 times worse. And that has happened, I should know....*Rubs arm.* and it hurts, trust me.

What?! How dare you say that about my religon. We're not crazy, we're a peacful religon. We have a higher spirit like you only ours isn't materialized and we are not sure if it's a he or she. If you prick us, we bleed. You call us crazy and different because you don't understand us. Here's some news for you Christian boy, Wicca came beofre Christianity and Wicca will stay here. So you can either deal with it or you can bug off. And this goes to everyone who hates us.
You don't have to like us, we never asked you too, but you should respect us and understand us.

Wicca is a neo-pagan belief that was founded by Gerald Gardner in 1954. It is based off of old witchcraft pagan beliefs and was very secretive in its ceremonies until a few certain members leaked it out.

No you're just a know-it-all. Wicca was essentially created in 1954 to those of u who don't read the fine print! Gardener was the first to put wiccan beliefs into a book. I didn't read any of my info from Vampirefreaks.com I found friends there but not my info. I didn't get into this to piss my parents off and in facts my parents are cool with whatever I choose to do with my life. You idiot! The Wiccan religion called Gardenerian Wicca was started by him but infact there were a lot others before him. Gardener learned about Wicca through a Coven which is like a Wicca school. He didn't start Wicca you idiot he only put it into a book and thus betrayed the trust that was given to him by his becomeing one with the divine. If you're gonna bad mouth Wicca you should look at ALL the text.

Wicca, as a religion, was created in 1954 by Gardener. He CREATED it by taking different aspects of a few different pagan beliefs and combined it together. I've now checked four different online and offline sources. Don't go off flaming me because I am trying to prove a point here.

There WAS lots of others before Gardener... But it wasn't Wicca that they were practicing. It was completely different. Wicca is a form of neo-paganism and the ones you are referring to are not. Wicca is an entirely separate entity. There have been many fractions AFTER Gardener because people took his works, made them public, made addendums, and a thousand other things. From what I've read from you, you do not practice Gardener's Wicca, but a branch off of it that believes more heavily upon just one goddess instead of two major figures. (However, I could be wrong, I am just looking at what you've said in the past.)

Gardener did not "betray the trust." It was people after him that published his book. Gardener wanted to and TRIED to keep everything that they do secret and only those initiated in its ways to be able to read from his book and follow his religion.

I'm not bad mouthing Wicca, I actually think it is pretty interesting. It's not for me, but I haven't bashed it. I bash many of its so called "followers" who basically know jack shit about it.

Yes, I see the quote. But if you read it all, you will see how it mentions that he changed it slightly and made it different, which means that he is the founder of Wicca, a NEO-pagan belief. Those beforehand were strictly paganistic and stuck more to old beliefs. Gardener switched around quite a few things with his new belief on how it should work and his own findings. It was never formed beforehand. Wicca is only half a century hold or so.

I will also ask that you not flame me and not get so outraged. If you tried to do the same thing with my faith, so what? I can defend it without flipping my shit.

Frankly, I don't care about the history of the Wiccan religion, or if it's pre-christian, or whatever. This isn't what the thread is about. It's about the views on this religion, and mine are positive.

I'll say that I believe that there is a being that made us and granted us life, but that's all I'll believe. I won't follow some religious rules, saying I can't do this or that. This one simple rule, so basic and yet so right, is the practically the only rule that I follow in my life. I'm not declaring I'm Wicca, Christian, or anything, but as far as religions go, I favor this one the most.
