Healthy Habits?

Since the beginning of the summer I've become extremely health-conscious. So, I made this topic so that others can share their methods for staying healthy. This isn't only devoted to basic dieting/exercising, it can pretty much be about anything related to health/well-being.

For me, I don't eat any processed sugar foods (no cakes, candies, and sweets - the only sugar I consume is the natural sugar found in fruits and vegetables), any snack food items (chips, doritos, etc.), no fast foods, and no fried/fatty foods. I eat whole-grain cereal with fat-free milk for breakfast, a whole-wheat bread sandwich for lunch, and either chicken, shrimp, other types of fish, turkey breast, or a salad for dinner. I also run a mile every day to promote cardiovascular health and push-ups/sit-ups every other day as a mild form of strength training.

So, what about you? ;x

Re: Healthy Habits?

My metabolism is naturally high, so as long as I don't eat too many fatty foods each day, all I have to do is play soccer for a few hours to stay in shape. Breakfast is usually some toast with some honey or chocolate spread with a glass or two of milk. I love milk. Lunch is maybe rice and some fish if my mum's feeling lenient and dinner's a good source of meat like chicken and plenty of green beans. Cherry rice is also really good and healthy, if you guys wanted to try it.

You're only 15. O_O Is your goal to become a competitive body builder? Because, at your age, you should be able to eat what you want, only with moderation. At your age, you should be able to lose the weight pretty quickly if you gain any from that sort of thing.

Anyway, my healthy habits? I drink tons of water. Aaaannnd, that's it lol. I used to be into bodybuilding also, but I'm older now and a shell of my former self.

Re: Healthy Habits?

I love milk and I'm never giving it up, so soccer and my cousins make me work twice as hard to keep me in shape. Of course, 'in shape' for me is a 5'4 scrawny marshmellow who hasn't grown since the eighth grade. XD

Im seriously thinking about competing by the time im 20 or so, cause I do everything accual body builder do, and iv never seen a teenager around here as big as me, so I think I might.

But as far as eating goes, I eat: 240 grams protien, 250 grams carbs, all whole wheat, besides after a work out.

Me too. I can never stop drinking milk so I'm very tall(im 5ft 6in).I love to do sports. I do cross country, volleyball, basketball, and fastpitch baseball. Along with my healthy eating, my life is the ultimate health plan.

Re: Healthy Habits?

I never really have to worry about my health as much, and I'm seventeen. I'd like to grow a little taller, and maybe thicker, so that's why I drink so much milk and not enough water.

Re: Healthy Habits?

Milk doesn't help you grow. It helps to keep your bones strong, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it helps you grow. Your height is determined by genetics. Sure, you can maximize your potential growth by stretching, exercising, getting enough sleep, etc., but drinking milk isn't the impetus behind your growth.

A gallon of water a day seems about right. I wouldn't suggest it during the school year unless your teachers are relatively lenient about allowing you to go to the bathroom, but water is great for anyone at any age. Considering that we as human beings are what? 80, 90% water? yeah, water's good lol.
