becuse that's the english name for furuba.
Fruits basket.
and according to the anime if i remembered it right it's a name of a game.I'm not quite sure about this tought.

no no, you're right. every one sits in a circle and there is some one standing in the middle. every one gets the name of a fruit. the person in the middle calls out the name of a fruit and every one who is that fruit jumps up and trys to find another seat, while the person in the middle trys to find one, leaving a new person in the middle.

when tohru was little she was excluded alot, so when she asked to play with the class they told her she coudl be the rice ball, which is obviously not a fruit.
she waited the entire game to be callled and never was, it's so sad they were so mean, but she looked so happy sitting there in the manga #>_<#

so sad.

actually a guy showed me the series, and if your not a bag of rocks you should find it funny, and the fighting isn't half bad either.

why not try watching a few episodes?

i guess he came up with that conclussion since the active members are all girls.
well it's not that really of girl thing... the category it belongs is comic and a bit of fantasy

ZBL should read instead of asking stupid questions
(just to clarify, she's not stupid, just doesn't read before asking questions)

i guess, you know, fruba is sort of something a chick would really enjoy watching, but it's not focused on chicks, it's just targeted at teens in general.

it's heartwarming and it's funny, it has soft moments and fighting.
but the fighting isn't so disturbing that girls hate it, and the boobs aren't huge either....
(if you want anime like that, you should watch basilisk, which was AMAZING! i loved it, even with the oversized gazongas! )

girls also like the way that fruba characters reveal themselves and have so much depth.
men like complexe characters to, but only want to learn about those complexities if it furthers the story line.
at least that is my experience.

thankfully fruba is a masterpiece that sits right in the middle and is very enjoyable for both men and ladies!

... and i thought yuki was damn sexy the first time i saw it, like.... 4 years ago or something.

if you read the manga though, i will say it is definitely more aimed at female readers.
its' alot about emotions towards the end and less about the competition between cat and mouse (rat) and the terrifying figure of akito.

edit: so what's everyones feelings about hanagima?
i like her, but i've heard alot of people jsut think she's wierd, and unnatural.
and that no one dresses like her, but people do!

I'm so lucky to have be a Furuba fan! hehehehe...the story is indeed getting more intresting as it unravel itself from one character's past to another. Guess you could say that chicks are more into it, but mind you, I have guy friends who enjoy reading the manga. ^^

@tabris topic: what can I say about hanagima? ... I LOVE HER! SHe's pretty weird, no doubt about it. Honestly, if I'd meet a realy live person who's like hanagima, I'd be totally scared myself, that is natural...human instinct. first impression, I guess...but as you'll learn more about her personality and character, then I'd be very damn lucky to have her as my friend. I don't mind the voodoo's at all! And what more can I say about her fashion sense...it's soooo her! I love it! hehehe...a truly unique, loyal, friend for life. ^__^

I wouldn't mind hanging around with a real hanagima XD

Hangima's my favorite...
I could see myself in her along time ago. I really like her coz she's damn good at creeping people out. what's more is that she's very loyal to her friends.. I wish i have someone like her...
